Doubt it |

Would happily do RNH + second for Zibanejad + Methot. |

Move the furniture around, Zibby can't play Center.
Mac - Turris - Stone
Zibby - Leggy - Ryan
Hoffman - Lazar - Chiasson
9mm- Smith - Neil |

Second line is waaaay too slow I think. Zibby lost a lot of that speed. |

Weren't people always complaining that Mac would break up lines too quickly? Now he's leaving them alone for a period of time, and they want him to do exactly that?
Just saying. I too am a little concerned with this lines production, but curious what alternatives there are. - david22
This .... people like to complain..... this line needs to work together to figure it out .... let them.
they could sign Alfie to mentor ZBad hey can carry the play and be the passer on the line |

First off: Chilllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. 5 games in, we're 4-1.... let's celebrate that.
2nd: Michalek has a NTC.. don't know many NTC's just signed that get traded
3rd: Zibanejad, Ryan -- Speed is an issue [can throw chiasson in that as well] but there all big bodies that are doing other things. Like the idea of playing him wing

would love that. Sens could use the poise |

Problem is Zibby is not smart enough to figure it out - he should play wing. Team Sweden has him playing wing because it simplifies his game and he can just attack the net without having to worry about a ton of other things.
I know he's young playing 2nd line minutes for the first time but you gotta be concerned about his level of play - he hasn't raised his game at all this year, makes me wonder if Zibby gets by on natural athleticism and talent alone or if he is fully committed |

If I'm bryan Murray id be calling Edmonton and try to make something happen .. getting a 2nd line player with possession for bobby ryan ... Eberle ? nugent ? - Gosensgo89
So now Ryan is officially a 2nd line player to the extent that a player of Eberle's quality needs to be brought in? Stone was moved up to the top line to diversify the offense on the scoring lines, and that really hasn't worked. Ryan is stuck on a struggling line, and they're not even getting any kind of great production out of Stone. If it wasn't for the 4G/4A performance over the past 2 games from what appears to be the 4th line (Hoffman-Legwand-Neil), and the fact that they've injured goaltenders in consecutive games, I think these scoring line experiments would be under considerably more scrutiny than they are now.
Some general thoughts...
- Legwand should be the 2nd line centre until future notice
- playing Ryan on his off-wing with Zibanejad is just flat-out not working, and that can't go on
- Michalek should be part of the Greening-Condra benching rotation
- Zibanejad should probably sit a game or two and watch Lazar play #4C |

So who is the next coming of Spezza this year that we will complain about incessantly with limited logical reasoning or consistency in order to run them out of town all so that we can bring the next player we irrationally hate to the sacrificial altar of our inflated sense of 'smarter' micro management?
Will you people ever have your blood lust satisfied or will CTC actually become a Roman colosseum at the end of each game where we throw the worst player on the ice to Spartacat at the end of the night and watch them get devoured?
Michalek? Yeah he was terrible and should now permanently join the rotating scratch list, despite, no less than ONE game ago, being praised for his contributions to the MM9-Smith-Lazar line that outplayed and out possessed Colorado like they were an AHL team? Is that the same Michalek you are all referring to today after one extra game? Or the Mike Hoffman who after the first two games of the season many of you were saying he did not have the scoring touch or experience to play at this level but today is the second coming of Martin St Louis to some of the blowhards here?
It seems as though no one here has heard of the word 'variance', a term that refers to the fact that NHL players (and humans in general) are not machines and cannot put forward a consistent effort each and every night due to outside factors such as illness, family, injury, not drinking 30 red bulls to get your wings, or what you ate the night before giving you food poisoning.
What the hell do you people realistically want???? These are human beings playing a game for our entertainment which you all seem to want replaced by robots when you look at the crazy expectations. |

I was happy with the performance for the most part, but that Zibby line just doesn't do it for me either. Zibby is more of a crash and bang center man as you said, and I'm not sure what changed because last year he loved to carry the puck.. For the time being, maybe reunite the MTR line to ignite Ryan a little bit, then try Hoffman- legwand - stone on the second as Legs and Hoff seem to have some good chemistry. That leaves us with a third of Chiasson - Zibby - Lazar. Lazar is more of a puck possession guy than Zibby, so I can see Lazar slowly taking Zibby's spot at center and them moving Zibby to wing.
By the half way point of the season I wouldn't mind:
Chiasson - Lazar - Zibby as a third line - karlssens
This could work for sure, could also see Hoffman-Chiasson being swapped around to make more balanced lines:
Mac-Turris-Stone works, we know that already.
Hoff-Zibby-Ryan would have speed, puck possession, size and finish.
Michalek-Legwand-Chiasson would have those same three features.
Neil-Smith-Condra can do what they do in limited mins. |

Stone has been great and the Turris line has been our best line since they have been put together - they are great both ways and the team is 4-1 so no complaints in Ottawa.
Ryan is coming off an injury so let's give him to game 20 to get his feet under him, but you are totally right, Zibby is more interested in being a DJ then he is in being an NHL star - he had that huge one-timer and right now that's all he has, playing like he is smoking a bong on the bench - no speed and only half a brain
