I think AMac is a bit more mobile but Carle's overall 2way game is better IMO.

Small sample size but so far through 4 games, McGinn has 2 hits. Raffl has 7 hits. And as far as who is a better player, it's not even close in my view. Raffl's scoring touch is there, and that will develop later. Right now, he is a very good skater, very strong on the puck and on the forecheck. And good defensively. Raffl came from a lower tier European team to the NHL last year. And he posted 9 goals and 13 assists. So he does have scoring ability. McGinn is not a big loss.

It's really too early to look at stats, but despite the fact that Raffl has had time on the Flyers top line, he has only one point and is a -4. McGinn has 2 points. The point is this - you are not going to win in this league with such small forwards. You have to have some big forwards to complement them to win battles in the corners and in front of the opposing net. You can't always just look at stats. The Kings had a lot of big forwards who did a lot of the dirty work necessary to win but didn't all put up huge numbers, a good team has a healthy balance between skill, speed, size, and grit. The Flyers don't have nearly enough size up front and should have kept McGinn and tried to develop him.

He probably could care less, not much less mind you.. but a little less, nonetheless.

In terms of puck skills and hands, McGinn is no where near the level of the puck skills that Akeson has.

Flyers didn't feel that McGinn was a fit for their team. Right or wrong. So they moved him rather then stop his career from moving forward if he has a chance with another team. He more then had his shot with the Flyers.

I think Akeson overall has more puck skill, but I think McGinn is better around the net because of his size. Akeson's problem is that he is small and he's pretty slow. I do not see Akeson ever becoming a big scorer- it could happen, but I think he's limited by his lack of size and speed.

Flyers have interest in Sekera....I just hope any deal for a veteran Dman would involve shipping Lecavalier out.
