You ask about strome I think he had been great this year. Strome is part of the winning formula that beyond just stats that's hard to explain. Look no further to isles record even last year when strome in or out of lineup. It's shocking

As for yapokuv. Highly doubt it. For one we have too many fowards. Also as the saying goes if it ain't broke, why try to fix it. We are 4-0.

Finally I want lee her as much as all of you. But don't disagree with give Colin one game to prove he belongs vs his old team. He should bring good energy. His problem is it wears off after few games.

And enough with splitting hairs. Martin and clutterbuck are being effective. 98% of the team on fire, it's ok of they just ok. They will have there games.
Isles are highest scoring offense in NHL and have 4 guys in top 10 in points.

doesn't it almost feel like they're talking about a different team? it's been so long.

Hate to say it but it was a clean hit. He's still scum, but the hit was good. The injury was just the result of a tricycle going head on with a freight train.
- eichiefs9

He basically hit Grabovski going toward him with his arms down- for most people, that's just pushing a guy off his skates onto the ice. Unfortunately, Scott is so big that he caught him in the head with his shoulder and basically knocked him out, after which he hit his helmet off the ice, which I'm sure didn't help. That said- when he skated off he looked like he was nursing either a shoulder or the ribs. He likely got his bell rung, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to be out for any length of time due to post-concussion syndrome. It's probably something else.

Despite the fact that it's a dump, the atmosphere that gets going in that place when the fans show up is phenomenal. I was there for all the playoff games 2 years ago and it was unbelievable to see. So loud, so much energy. I have no issue with the Brooklyn move whatsoever, but it really is a shame that the Coli won't see an energy like that anymore.
- eichiefs9

The building is so small that the sight lines and atmosphere are by far the best in the league when the team is doing well...unfortunately, sight lines and atmosphere do not provide revenue...

I have a rebuttal but I'm so tired of defending my theory on this I can't do it. Let's just say I still believe they're coming back and you can't change it!

Many of us believe that they will be back in the building in a few years. Same group running both arenas... just makes sense. When done the rebuild the Isles are contracted to play at least 6 games in the new NVMC... so it makes sense to make it full time once done.
- niteislander

The key to that will be if the rebuild is different than what was originally announced. No way they play 41 home games in an at most 13,000 seat arena. If they increase that by a couple thousand, then they may split games between the two and see which one does better- I can see that happening, for sure. All depends on what actually gets built in Uniondale, in my opinion...

and, by the way.....we STILL have more fans than New Jersey (better TV numbers, you can look it up) after 20 years of them winning Cups and us winning sh*te....so the idea that LI doesn't have the fan base is asinine...

Reinhardt is certainly going to garner a discussion... especially when they already have his brother.
- niteislander

I don't know if I trade Reinhart for myers until I see another year or so of him.

I'm not big on Myers. I was but not so much anymore. He's still really young and can develop into something special but I'd rather someone else before him

it's not happening.

You don’t move them to a place where they’re going to get 50 mil guaranteed, where the marketing department is going balls to the wall to try and bring in new fans in that area to suddenly up and move back within a few years and now alienate all the new fans you’ve brought into Brooklyn, to try and go back and reclaim the ones who you moved away from.

That’s not realistic. I don’t care that it’s the same group, that makes zero sense.

- Isles_since_6

Here's what I do agree with, in this case- if the terms were to change, there's no way they'd move back. I just have a feeling they're going to want to guarantee that revenue in a place where they feel they're going to fill the building, and they would realistically have two options- the question to me, as I said, will be how big an arena actually ends up being built in Nassau. That will be the real indicator as to whether or not they remain in Brooklyn permanently.

I still think the soundtigers or another AHL team ends up there. I don't see the isles coming back. We'll see.

let's not get ahead of ourselves.

besides, at this point, Garth deserves more of the credit.

Let's see how things are doing around game 20. One-quarter of the season is a fair time for evaluations.

I like him, but is this Myers ceiling? What's reinharts? Right now Myers is much better, so we'd have to give up more than Reinhart, but do we really need Myers right now? I don't think our defense is a weakness any longer. Not a top defense, but definitely average or above with everyone healthy and we have so many kids coming.

Heard Bob Mckenzie on XM talk about not paying too much attention to how teams do the first couple of weeks but by the month(ish) mark its a much better gauge.

Thats the thing. If capuano does well who can have a problem with it? It means our team is doing well. I dont like his coaching as we all know but if the team performs well under him than so be it. Sign me up.

yup. I'd be happy to say I was wrong about both him and Bailey. I'd put money on the other result, but I'll repeat it here if both perform well over the year.

I just dont want consistent mediocrity I want someone who expects everything from their players. Ive said it in numerous posts before. Id like very much for Snow to be right about capuano and me wrong. He obviously sees something the rest of us dont. So far so good.

Thats right. Thats all that matters. If we can do it consistently and at a hugh level with capuano than so be it. I still have my doubts of course but they have eased up a bit. Id love to be proven wrong about our coach.

Myers is not the answer, plus I could see by trade deadline or even during the season, Snow will try to land another experienced 5/6 dman to solidify the backend of team. If Snow could land another big fish on either F or D is just adding gravy to the team to be that much better.

In my opinion I could see Reinhart being dangled as bait if this team continues the success and are playoff bound. With DeHaan, Hamonic, Leddy (RFA- so he stays) and if Boychuk resigns (which I think he will if this team wins and makes PO's) just those 4 make up the top 4 D. With Pulock, Mayfield, Czuczman, Hickey, Pedan, Pelech, Donovan, etc to be 5/6 choices is a good problem to have.
