They've only played 1 game. Hagg has 2 assists. Ghost was apparently a wrecking ball of offense in the AHL preseason.
- jmatchett383

Thanks. I didn't realize they only played 1 game so far. That's good to hear about Ghost though. Encouraging about the 2 assists for Haag too.

I tend to over exaggerate things. Although he did have 46 one year playing with linemates not as talented as Giroux (or Vorecek). I don't think 40 would be out of the question now. Doesn't change the fact that I feel he would be the perfect "sniper" for Giroux that everyone is always asking for.
- JonnyHammerstix

In a different situation Carter might manage 50 goals. But LA isn't a very high scoring team. They roll 4 lines and grit your soul out.

Put Carter with Crosby or Malkin in Pittsburgh's system under Bylsma or in Washington with Backstom playing fire wagon hockey and he could push hard for 50

receive an extremely bad connotation because of your average typical (frank)ing douchebag that thinks hes cool because he goes to their concerts and like doooooodz totally wore a pinny and had like 91 natty ices in the parking lot bruh.

but ridiculously deserving musicians of all the attention they receive.

- stayinthefnnet

Yea I agree but if you can look past the almost endless stream of douchery by the fans they do put on one hell of a show.

This is not going to be a popular opinion but Nickelback is another band with a bad connotation that puts on a great show.

It's the other way around. They like Read defensively against top lines but they don't think he's very effective offensively when he's been given chances to be out against other team's top shutdown lines.
- bmeltzer

I can see their point. While he's fast and has a decent shot and hands, he doesn't seem to be more than an average playmaker and shows little offensive creativity. Also his lack of size doesn't help when matched up against shutdown lines and top D pairings.

It can be distracting. Rather than just tapping a button, I end up scrolling and looking for specific bands or shows

As he should!

Seriously, He could be Erik Karlsson at best, or Kris Letang.....

As long as he learns to hold his own physically in his own zone. Im excited by the skill.

To be fair, on the PK they can just ice the puck, but I still get your point.
- MBFlyerfan

No doubt but it's BS to suggest Schenn or Grossmann cannot make a pass. It's just that Streit and Del Zotto are more likely and more trusted to do so.

I think Ghost will be the most exciting, but Sanheim projects as the best bet for your #1 all-around player. I really do see a bit of McDonagh in him.

i usually see DMB three or four times each year. i dont really tailgate, and refuse to go on the lawn. i think in seeing them upwards of 15 times or so, ive never once had a drop to drink at any of their shows. same with the majority of the concerts i go to. when i drink a lot, i always worry about having to take a piss. and i spend too much money and wait too long to have to worry about getting up to take a piss break and miss song X that youve been chasing for over 3 tours now.

nickleback is largely meh to me. i dont understand why they have such a joke connotation (unless its totally fan related?), but they dont blow me away either. just a fairly catchy, decent but nondescript rock band to me.

Well, there's the one thing. Letang is actually a surprisingly strong and physical play. I'd say Goligoski is more the type he can be.

letang gets a reputation as a pure finesse guy, but he is actually a really good physical defender. his issue is that he is constantly too out of position to showcase it.

but if ghost can transition what he shows at his current level to the next, his puck skills and awareness are immense.

id already take his shot over letangs. ghost has some heat on it, but above that he shows an innate ability to simply get it through onto the net, which is the most important thing for a dman on the PP. (and coincidentally something letang has never mastered.)

Carter was an underrated player here defensively. LA has a deeper team, but Carter is one of their top players in minutes played. And plays in all situations. He is relied on a lot in LA.
- MJL

Carter's average TOI in Philly from 2006-07 to 2010-11: 18:00, 18:51, 20:57, 19:18, 18:15

Carter's average TOI in LA from 2011-12 to 2014-15: 18:06, 17:35, 18:57, 17:45

He plays less minutes than he did here. Also what I'm saying is that he's not the core and Kopitar, Doughty, Quick are yada yada yada
