Only #Isles change would be de Haan for either Strait or Reinhart. Rest of lineup will be the same -- McDonald, Boulton, Donovan scratched. |

"Anything less than 13,000 people at tonight’s game is embarrassing considering the success of the team this season"
They've played three games this year two of which were against a team that might be picking first overall at the draft and another that is missing their "first line center" and a top 4 d man due to injuries. I like that they're 3-0 but lets not get ahead of ourselves. This fan base is hesitant to jump on and rightfully so. I'd love to see the old barn jammed for them tonight but I have a hard time blaming this fan base for anything or calling them out. I may go tonight, hopefully Vukota sits this one out - Cptmjl
We're missing 2 top defensemen and fastest player and best asset in the penalty kill. The signings and trade alone should be enough to attract a decent crowd. They have finally committed to winning. Isn't that what we all been waiting for.

Stubhub still has $8 tickets for some games so demand isn't quite there yet. 3-0 is a great start. You diehards are awesome fans. just need to get those bandwaggoners back and restore the Masoleum to its glory of 30 years ago. - DONMURDOCH14
Only 250 tickets for tonights game left on Stubhub, with the cheapest being $30. Dan, you may get your wish. |

Dan, I love the passion of the blog (hell, I was at that Phoenix game last year) but Vukota is 100% right. I'd be expecting 10,000-12,000 realistically if I were you.
It sucks, but people want to see a winning franchise. Why do you think CitiField is always empty? Why has Yankee stadium been half empty lately? Why were the Rangers selling out the Garden last year? The fans have been fooled before and it's gonna take a little CONSISTENCY before any of that changes.
At this point in my life I'm lucky if I get to a handful of games a year. I used to go to at least 8 or 10 a season. Now, I don't get home from work until the beginning of the 3rd period and I have 2 kids to entertain during the weekend, not to mention the wife, who (thank God) is an Isles fan. I don't believe this makes me any less of a fan and I don't think it's "embarrassing" if we have less than 13,000 there tonight. I love the passion of the blog, so please, keep it up. - potvin05
It's a great argument that is for sure. The Islanders having one very good offseason is not going to be enough for all fans to jump back in yet. Isles have done a lot of wrong over the years and fans need to be won over. |

I'm won over. We haven't won a home opener in years. We never beat the canes and we beat them back to back. We could barely score on the queen and we put 6 past him. |

I don't care who they beat. Team showed they are serious. Time for the fans to pony up. If they don't then I don't want to here one peep about Brooklyn. If 10k is all we can expect then the locals lost the right to piss on the move.... Hesitant!! COME ON, either you like hockey or you don't. Tickets are 8 (frank)ing dollars - Dan Petriw
Im not hesitant. I unfortunately may have to cover call tonight. If I dont I have tickets ready to go! Believe me, im with you. Id love to see the fans come back in droves. I just understand the hesitation. I went to the home opener and the garden. You would've been proud of the fans at the ranger game. Id say half the garden was close to being isles fans dare I say more. |

Sure is but we are talking about ny fans here which are 90% bandwagoners. They win consistent through november then you'll see 14000/15000 for a week day game. Thats the reality. |

No question Dan the team is serious now. It should have happened much sooner though. It should not have taken the team to be a year from Brooklyn and a new owner coming in to get Charles and co to be more serious. |

Times have changed for sure. For those of us who work at night it's tough to go to any games. Days off are spent with family or working second jobs. I go to NYI games with my Islander friends because I love hockey.
I even root for the isles ( out loud, but in my head I'm hoping they lose ) Anyway, I hope they have a lot of success (again, out loud, my head says different )
Not too much success though, those $8 ticket prices are right in my budget. |

I have very high hopes for this years team. I still cannot jump on any fans that are not all in yet. The last 20 years have been brutal and Charles and co created a lot of the problems. |

I think we all know they're serious, my biggest point was most casual fans couldn't name more than a handful of players, and those are the types of fans you need to get to that 13,000+ number, on a weekday, at least.
If this team can maintain playoff seeding into the Holiday season, the casual fans will have the curiosity piqued and want to go. Especially being the last season in Nassau.
*these new pop up adds are (frank)ing my phone and the site up, by the way. |

I don't disagree but there is still that one thing... . Jk. Snow did the right thing this off season and the fans will respond and pack the Coliseum when the team succeeds. We've seen it before and we will see it again. |

I have no clue who most of these people are, I haven't paid attention to wrestling in a very long time, but the game is entertaining at least. (the card game) |

Yeah I took a break from wrestling for a few years until mania. After Paige debuted I was hooked again. I went to raw in Brooklyn and The rock made an appearance. pretty cool. I'm not ashamed to be a wrestling fan. brings back nostalgia of when I was a kid. |
