he really does. I'd rather he stay and send both Miller and Fast back. Because if an injury happens they can be recalled easily. Once Duclair is sent packing, he's gone until next year's training camp and that is such a killer.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Once he's gone, that's it.

Makes sense your scenario when you take in the myriad of rules there are concerning call ups and all that crap.

I hope, I just hope not playing Duclair in the 3rd period last night isn't a sign of things to come

Guys, you know we were missing Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Jeff Skinner, Patrick Dwyer and Andrej Sekera?

Half of our top 6 forwards.

3 out of 4 players on our top penalty killing unit.

3 out of 5 players from our top powerplay unit.

One of our top 2 defensemen.

....And it went to a shootout?!? Granted, I'm thrilled with the way the Canes played you. They busted their asses and Khudobin played on his head, but with a full line-up, Carolina absolutely wins that game.

So, uh... what the heck is going on with you guys?

If the Rangers decide to keep Duclair after the nine game period, what are their movement options with him for the rest of the year? I am assuming that he has to stay with the big club come hell or high water? Without Hartford as an option, they really either need to commit to keep him in the lineup or sending him back. Can they send him back to Juniors after the 9 games?

From my perspective, with a lot of new faces and injury, its taking them some time to find their way. Is it frustrating? Yes. But, at the same time, the Rangers have earned a little leeway with me after last year's playoffs, and if they can just tread water until guys come back from injury and the new faces get acclimated, I think they will be fine.

The Semi-Final year when they were the Top seed in the East, they looked terrible in the first six games. That was even more true last year. I don't prefer continually doing that, and it's obviously important not to put yourself in too deep of a hole, I think they'll be fine. The just suck right now.

They are playing possum. Making other teams think they are really bad to take them off their game.

At least that's what I'm going to tell myself, because the alternative is they really do suck something bad right now.

when Stepan is ready and off LTIR, Rangers will be 1.4 million over the cap apparently.

With Duclair being reduced to 10 minutes last night, I hope it doesn't happen, but removing his 772K cap hit and sending him to juniors and either sending Miller or Fast back to Hartford may be the way they go.

4 more games, Duclair needs to score to stay

- jimbro83

Duclair is making plays and drawing penalties. It would be unwise to send him down once Stepan returns.

Still one of the few players that actually looks strong in every game he has played.

Playing in NY is tough, and everyone always has high hopes for the sports teams that play in this great city. What if Sather tells his team to perform at a 75% effort to shake the stigma of having to be perfect?

Clearly that's not the case. I think everything will shape into form, just takes some patience. I don't like comparing teams year over year because there are so many tangibles that factor into a team. BUT, the Rangers have consistently had slow starts since the turn of the millennium.

if Duclair is here after 9 games, he is here to stay with the big club for the duration.

Big decision coming up very soon

They started out on fire a few years ago and had a long 7 game winning streak to open the season I think..ended up missing the playoffs.

ok, here is clarification to this confusing rule:

The 10-game mark.
A junior-aged player with a contract can play up to nine NHL games as a trial period. If he is returned to junior before the tenth game, his contract is effectively put on hold: when he goes to training camp the following season, he will be in the first year of his contract.
Once the player appears in his tenth NHL game, his contract kicks in. He can still be returned to his junior club after that. But at season's end, a full contract year will expire

But duclair signed his contract after the deadline to be eligible for that slide. Duclairs first year is burned regardless of if he plays 40 games or got cut in training camp. I think one reason he's up here to begin with is because they know his first year is burned so why not?

This is what happens when lawyers get involved. It should just be a simple (frank)ing rule so everyone understands it.

Sean Hartnett wrote a piece for WFAN and asked whether with Nash's league leading six goals and 7 takeaways is the best all around player in the league so far, Isles fans are going bat shyt!

Thats one thing with Nash this year that has been outstanding. His defensive ability to take away pucks, even after he loses it. No quit in him.

That WFAN site/Facebook page is truly a joke. Nash has been great and definitely has been one of the best player sin the league after the first week.

Let Isles fans revel in their quick start. Although I don't think they will fall off the face of the earth I do think they will not be the lead horse, in the coference or division, when the smoke clears. I definitely see them as a playoff team though.

And, throwing my two cents in the well, Duclair isn't going anywhere. He hasn't looked out of place at all here despite the team's early season struggle.

Hope Kreider isn't hurt. I don't think I have ever seen him glide around the ice like he did last night. He is so explosive, yet last night he looked pedestrian. Was getting beat to pucks and out worked constantly.

Nash was unreal last night; that 4 on 4 shift, where he was stealing pucks and making plays, was unbelievable.

I've said it before and I will say it again, St. Louis needs to go back wing, as soon as possible. He is not an effective center and he is unable to do his thing offensively because of the other responsibilities the center position require.

I agree, I thought when AV moved Hayes up to center with Nash & MSL they looked pretty good.
