It will sort itself out. The lineup will probably be fluid. Win and you're in! I'm curious at who starts in goal tonight.

They are passed that philosophy now....based on last year, Bernier established the number one role.

However, if Bernier's knee is still acting up....let him sit and play Reimer.

I agree with a previous poster, Reimer did look much more composed Sunday night than he did last year.

Good to see

clarkson is a new man. less focus on water bottles and running around like a big dummy getting his face punched in. i like his new game.
- Jurco_28

He Hits

He fights

He scores

He's coming...

Seriously though, he does look a lot better so far. If he plays exactly the same over 82 games, I'll be just fine with that

Keeping it simple works for some players. Best cycling line on the team so far.

I agree. Bernier is the number 1 - so play him as that and see what happens. Three games in...not much of a pattern to go by. Reimer accepting the backup job and reducing all that drama probably allows him to play a little better.

Brenier has to stop day dreaming, and focus on the task at hand... FFS, these little easy goals are killing us.

...well based on the offseason the Leafs signed Gardiner long-term and Franson for a year sooooo...this doesn't hold water. They clearly decided based on last year that Gardiner is part of the long term plan.

Bernier has been below mediocre. Start Reimer until he sucks - then crucify him and throw him under the bus as per usual.

Exactly - he got what he's worked for - he's the guy, so only thing to worry about is stopping pucks.

The win and your in theory also applies to bottom pair defensemen and bottom 6 forwards.

Darren Dreger: “I can tell you this much every time you throw out Gardiner’s name in trade speculation a day or two my phone will ring from an NHL club wondering if this is just speculation or there’s more to it.” … “The upside of this young man [Gardiner] is still significant & nobody knows that better than the Leafs.”

People like Gardiner, fans like Gardiner - he's pretty to watch sometimes, but he's the type of player who provides the most challenge for a coach.

oh I'm not defending him. I think he's a work in progress. But why pair a guy like this with another young guy that is similar (albeit better and with a much higher ceiling)and give him the 2nd most D minutes on the team? I just don't get Randy sometimes.

Which is as it should be and which is why they got so many spare parts for bottom 6 forwards. This team goes as far as its top 5 forwards, top D and Bernier take them.

The team feels it knows what Reimer can do and thinks that Bernier gives them more. He will get more opportunities unless and until they decide he can't. Top line can get fewer minutes as was the case but there is no reason at this point in the season to start sitting Phil

Oh, I know - they're roomies, pals, they came up with their own idea as to how they want to play last year while they were watching Adventure Time together, remember...and RC went with it...why?
