12pts in 4-games... looking like he might get there.

He might. And Wayne Simmonds might post 110 goals at his current pace.

Do I really want Streit, AMac, and Myers on my defense eating nearly 16 mil of my cap?

I don't think so.

- 77rams

That's my thinking. Two of the 3 wouldn't be bad and I'd take AMac over Myers if we're comparing contracts. Streit only has 2 years left and will probably retire by that time given his age.

No, but that has more to do with Streit and AMac's deals, not the addition of Myers' deal.

Any player/pick not named Sidney Crosby or Steven Stamkos is available. But the price would have to be ridiculous for a lot of players.

And Drew Doughty.

I hear you, but there's a chance (relatively small) that you're gonna get another Daigle/Nolan/Stfean/Hamrlik/Berard/Phillips, or hell, even an E. Johnson/RNH type of player.

I'll take the one in the hand over the two in the bush.

- jmatchett383

It would all depend on the team. Giroux makes the Flyers a marginal playoff team now. How much could he do for Buffalo or Florida? I'd roll the dice on the kids. If you get Daigle, oh well. It was worth a shot.

I wouldn't. Myers is much more suited to top pairing minutes. And his contract is for five more years, not six.

He's so inconsistent though. Aside from his age, there's no indicator that he'll improve that much, if at all. He'll be another albatross on the blueline. I don't think trading assets is worth that risk at the moment.

Amac, while hasn't been AS bad as he was last season, is still not a top 4 dman (unless sheltered with a true top-2 partner).

Myers, while he has struggled since his rookie season, really seemed to be bouncing back the second half of last season. He looks like the prototypical late bloomer as well, and as a legitimate chance to be a top pairing dman. nobody else currently on the flyers does.

Therefore i move Schenn brothers, for Myers and a 2nd everyday of the week. (and that replaces the second we gave for amac's terribleness).

also i would currently be on the phone trying to move amac, streit, vinny and rj for absolutely anything, as long as i did not have to eat the cap #.

And he's gotten worse every year since his rookie season when he was 19. I'd just rather go a different route.

Trading Streit seems like an odd move considering how dependent the team is on the top PP unit, unless you are trying to tank, which the Flyers will never do.

In my view trading for Myers would be to upgrade the team. It's not part of giving up on the season.

And AMac doesn't need a stud next to him to be a solid second pairing guy. He was excellent with Streit last year in limited minutes, and decent with LSchenn (they were miles better than the MDZ-LSchenn poop-fest). He has only struggled here when played with Coburn on the top pairing.

Agreed. But you are forgetting that 11-2-1 stretch once mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

part of me thinks with a few injuries this team is closer to mcdavid than they are making the playoffs.

someone brought up last seasons success (if called that) was in part due to the team being relatively healthy all season long which is a rare feat. doubt it happens again.
