Agreed! Maybe if the Wings were still loaded top to bottom like they used to be and wouldn't have room for Mantha any time soon it could go through but as it stands I don't see any chance of that happening.

That being said since Nolan took over Myers has looked stronger and stronger so they might actually be best served to hold onto him. If he stays on this trajectory he could be a legit top pairing defenseman by this time next year. Either way he's still young and still has a very high ceiling and has a pretty appealing contract so if they do trade him they should get a very nice return.

Last I checked shots were 11 each and the score 1 all after the first. The Laughs dominated nothing, it was a pretty equal period. The 2nd was a different story, due to a bad game by Henrik and lucky bounces. As for the 3rd it was all Rangers.

Eakins is a complete idiot with these kids over there and one needs to think he has naked pics of Mactavish at the Blue Oyster Bar. Here is my suggestion. Craig Anderson and Jared Cowen to Edm for Yak and Scrivens. Gives both teams what they need. A fresh start for Yak, a fresh start for Cowen (and a huge potential def stalwart for them) and a bonafide true number one goalie in Anderson signed for 3 more years.

I was at the game. Even down 6-2 we thought we had a shot only because we were playing the leafs. Their goaltending and defense is very suspect.

It's funny when the story came out in the summer and the Wings were mentioned Sabres fans were saying the Wings would have to give them Mantha or NyQuist (or both according to some fans) and Wings fans said that's a non-starter there is not way the Wings would do that deal. Apparently everybody was right.

mantha is a very dominant prospect but an unproven commodity. If buffalo is calling Detroit they are probably trying to pry him away. If Detroit is calling buffalo they are probably looking to move a bunch of lesser prospects for myers. it's just posturing.

if Mantha goes to the tough areas of the ice he will be a premier power forward. again, time will tell. at this point buffalo isnt getting Mantha for Myers. i think the two organizations touched based again and the status quo remained the same
