Oh is it?

And since it sounds so familiar and the sens finished way differently than tenth place it must be way different.

More a reference as to teh fact the leafs heard the same thing for most of the season last year.

Yes, everyone knows they'll need to be better in front of the goalies.

Shouldn't you be busy planning the parade route after rising up to 1-2?

Maybe scout out the Jane and Finch corridor for it with a couple of twenties hanging out of your pocket.......an "I hate gangstas" t-shirt on........maybe you have a Phil Kessel bullet-proof gut to get you safely through.

Sens 3 Bolts 2......Bolts 7, Habs 1...... Habs 4 Laffs 3.......Rielly -3, Gardiner -3. 3 degrees of giant suck, but hey, they always come through, don't they? Don't they?

So when do they next trot the 80 year olds from the last Cup team on the ice to actually get the the corporate knobs to applaud?

Mac-Turris-Stone
Chiasson-Zibby-Ryan
Milos-Legwand-Lazar
Hoffman-Smith-Condra

Phillips-Karlsson
Wiercoch-Ceci
Cowen-Boro

Thats what I would go with next game, when Methot comes back play him with Ceci if Phillips continues to play half decent, drop Wiercioch to the 3rd and scratch Cowen again.

As expected then.
It's kind of interesting that your brain malfunctions every time the Ottawa Senators is brought up.

Pretty predictable effort. Game lacked top notch effort and top notch intensity again, but nice to get a win. Andy looked great. Goaltending looks great thus far. They do need more support. Relying on your goalie to win games is never a great strategy. Good road trip overall. Tough way to start a season.

Side note: Aaron Ekblad really is going to be a stud. Can't believe he is just 18.

Has Toronto changed in the last twenty years? Is yonge street not still in the same place? This isn't a joke of city like Ottawa. We don't need a route. The same one would still work. If anyone would need to plan a route it would be melnyk. And he's crazy enough to try. But he will never need it.

Wait, so because the Sens beat the Bolts, who beat the Habs who beat the Leafs that makes the Sens better? Wow. If only I knew earlier I been watching hockey all these years without knowing this God I'm stupid. Rielly is a stud and you know it Karlsson the only guy on the Sens id trade him for

Who do you think the Sens would part with for Paul Martin?
- sjfpp

A 33 year old pending UFA .... left handed shot that's very mobile. Unlikely Ottawa trades a Dman (especially not Cowen). Possibly Wiercioch but that would make PM a rental; something that makes no sense for a Sens team needed to resign Methot and even needing another left side Dman to play long term

Will be fighting the Leafs for that coveted 10th spot all year long, in likelihood
- Mr_Clean

With the goal-tending that the Sens are getting, the backchecking, the team will play a lot tighter hockey than the leafs. 2 wins in 3 games (first one they lost in about 10 mins). There's a lot to clean up and you may be right when the dust settles in april but from what I see if the team get get their defense sorted they got the depth to steal some games #GrittySens

Surprised there is not more attention to the brilliant goal saving play by Ryan. I am not a huge Ryan fan, was not enthusiastic about the trade or the $50m deal, but they have played only 3 games. Ryan is a goal scorer. He scores in bunches. He has always been a notoriously slow starter.

The only stated goal of this team, repeated often, is to reduce goals against by 50 for the season. They have allowed 5 goals in their first three games. It is a good start.

I thought Condra had a great game last night.

Would like to see Lazar, Hoffman and Condra together Thursday night.

Agree. Condra, Hoffman, Lazar in; Greening, Neil out.

There's no way Neil gets scratched while he's wearing the A, I think. Especially since he hasn't taken a single penalty yet this year.

Yeah him and some luck, plus the Panthers don't have a pure finisher. They had many opportunities and if it was given to a team a bit more competitive the Sens would have lost this one by a wide margin. Offense was poor today, defense as always can be better.
- TheCalSen

Disagree, I think tonight we saw a goalie battle, and Andy came out on top.

florida had a ton of chances early, Andy kept the team in it, and we came out in the late second and most of the third and dominated most of the play in their end.

One sequence saw us make 3 line changes while their line had to stay on because of pressure, where they were forced to use a timeout.

That's impressive. Give macarthur another goal on that goalpost deflection, Stone puts in one or two of his shots, and Chiasson/Zibby/Ryan bang in one or two of those net mouth scrambles and we could've been looking at 5-1 Sens.

I thought they played passable for the first 35 minutes, and great for the last 25.

Hopefully they carry over that momentum into next game, and Neil/Greening get swapped out for Hoffman/Lazar.

I have a bad feeling Lazar is going to have to go back to juniors unless they can deal Greening for a pick.

One less goal than Clarkson on 1/8th the salary. Not bad!
