If the kid can't play wing -- and God bless him, but i don't know if he can -- then i don't even know what you do with Schenn

The reason i have backed Schenn is we all have seen him play well for stretches, even though he can be inconsistent, at center. I KNOW that kid can play center

But if the Flyers aren't gonna let him play center and the coach is killing him 80 minutes into an 82-game season when he's on the wing, somebody in this situation needs to man the hell up and either let the kid play center or move his ass so you either get production or a different asset that the coach will like better

- AllInForFlyers

It's been discussed before ad nauseum, but Schenn needs to get his looks on net from the middle/right side of the ice... like Vinny. It's just plain (frank)ing stupid to keep banishing one or the other to the LW. Just like it's plain (frank)ing stupid to reunite/maintain combos that we KNOW are terrible together and WILL get torched.

Berube had better get a (frank)ing clue soon or he should be the first guy out the door.

Reminds me of the one Roenick took. At least he took it in the jaw. A few inches higher and he could've been done.

Kids got some stones tho. Pushes the trainer away from him.

He didn't appear wobbly on his way off the ice. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Yeah he's going to be a beast. Tough as nails.

Good thing is, he didn't looked dazed or loopy, just hurt and pissed

Does anybody have any word on if Vinny is going to miss time? That could hide some of these issues

Apparently wearing a boot. Ive gotta assume that means he'll be out at least 5-7 days minimum.

That boot the team bought was a good investment.

Maybe Schenn can get going then -- I know that's not the final answer, but it's an answer

Jake Gardiner a healthy scratch up in Toronto after their 0-2 start

Again: We're definitely not the only fans of a team that is feeling the heat

Just saw the Brodin deal. 6 years 25M, takes him up to UFA with no real bridge contract.

Another good young D gets locked up.

sooo did anyone figure out why the flyers suck so bad right now?

the schenns have no brains, its not hard to figure out... when we got brayden we were told/sold that he was the best player not in the nhl, not sure what that's even supposed to actually mean, jon sim once was crowned that title.

Enjoyed the Phantoms 5-2 season opening win against the Baby Pens last night.
Some observations:

Laughton was the most consistent forward although he didn't have the points. He showed offensive skill too on a couple of different occasions.

Alderson and Cousins both had good games, but Cousins lacked discipline in a couple of spots.

Haag and Alt were paired together and it amazing how similar they play. Both guys got minutes on the PP and PK. They both had defensive lapses typical of young players.

Ghost and Manning are a great pairing. It looks like Manning is a clear team leader playing big minutes. As far as Ghost goes, he stood out as the best player on the ice without even registering a point. He is just better than everyone else with the puck on his stick and his speed is superior to anyone on the ice last night. He is also very aggressive offensively. He had multiple rushes where he took the puck on a rush from the defensive zone all the way into the offensive zone. The Pens looked like orange cones when the puck was on his stick.

Leier did not have a great game, he wasn't very strong on the puck, but he did show good speed.

Overall the team was great defensively and the Pens never really dominated them for any sustained period of time. They should be a fun team to watch this season.
