I think you just expect him to be something he's not.
- sbroads24

He has to be like EVERY nhl player a leader and an allstar. Ya know because they are all leaders and all stars. Didn't ya know

To be fair, if he's not a leader and an all-star, but someone is willing to give up assets as if he is, then I jump on it right away.

Devonte Smith-Pelley does not qualify.

"If we trade Myers to the Ducks I want Devante Smith-Pelly and I would do it 1 for 1."

^This right here says you hate Myers.

There's this thing called skill and offense. Maybe you've heard of it.....

- Herzeleid

I don't have a problem with other people not liking or "hating" current Sabres, this isn't the official Buffalo Sabres Fan Club, and even there I don't see the need to be a card carrying loyal Sabres fanatic for each player on the worst team in the league. Anyway, I'm not looking to start a fight just to state my view and how when I saw This right here says you hate Myers. I thought so what?

Anyway, go Bills!!

Carlyle is going to be the first coach fired.
- buffalofan19

Jack Capuano would be my pick. I know they swept the home and home with Carolina but it is just carolina. Given the moves made, if the isles don't show some significant progress past game 15 I can't imagine Snow keeping him.

Considering he is a follower and an under achiever I would take a 4th for him. I mean come on he is not a leader and a goof of a tall lanky fall all over hi ale not good at anything since his rookie year player.

On this team there are no all-stars.

I want to see him with a decent team.

I'm watching the Vancouver-Edmonton game right now (side note: the new Sportsnet Hockey Night in Canada package might be the furthest thing from spectacular in the sport right now), both of whom aren't exactly the greatest in the league. Even watching these two teams makes you realize another shortcoming of this Sabres team. They are still very, very slow.

A team where he isn't expected to be a leader. I think that is part of the key. He isn't paid to be one so why expect it. Other than because he is tall like chara

There aren't too many speedsters amongst the prospects either, probably something they address at the draft or FA

Gotcha, i went back to try to find if it was a reply and must have missed it. I personally am not infatuated with Myers and if he is a valuable chip that can be cashed in for something of equal or greater value to help the team, so be it.

I used to be someone who believed he was untouchable but not anymore and that NTC that kicks in in 2016 may be one reason Murray may want to trade him before then.

Are either McDavid or Eichel incredibly fast? I don't think either of them are "slow", I'm not sure speed is one of the top traits in their arsenals.

McDavid's a very good/fast skater and I think Eichel's supposed to be as well.

Edit: Marner and Konecky (both projected top 10) are well known for their speed as well.

Eichel definitely didn't look above average as far as speed went in the American Prospects game. Again, he didn't look slow, but he didn't exactly blow by anybody either. He just went around them a lot.

Simply pointing out that the only other guy in the league even close to the same height as Myers also plays the same position, shoots right handed as well and took about 5, 6 years to fully develop. So, naturally, I can and will compare the two until Myers shows he is a completely different type of player or an eerily similar one. Its like comparing, oh, idk, Crosby to Yzerman? Not that I think Crosby is amoung the same caliber but similar height, age when entering the league, young captains who were offensivley gifted and won stanley cups when young captains of their respective teams who needed to (and in Yzerman's case did) become solid defensively and all around great players in order to take the next step/win their second Stanley Cup as leaders/premier players in the league.
- DynamicThreads

Uh, I think Myers has shown he is a "different type of player".

Myers can skate, Chara can't.
Chara hits like a truck, Myers doesn't.
Chara has a 105 mph slap shot, Myers doesn't.
Myers can rush the puck, Chara can't.

Why are we always comparing Myers and Chara. That's so lazy.
It's like comparing Nathan Gerbe and Theo Fleury.

Good mornin Buffalo...big day ahead for Bills...Go Buffalo!

Just finished reading through several random pages of comments from Laff Nation on Augellos blog...rather humorous to say the least. That franchise is absolutely screwed...needs to be blown up and start over . One fan said it best..."it is only 46 years and 2 games...give them time". Sad but true for them...funny down here.
We do need for them to qualify for the playoffs to eliminate any fixing of the lottery for them.
We need to support them by rooting for them to start winning.
Ok, maybe not.

Girgensons is a beast. Can't complain about him right now. He just brings it
- sbroads24

Said it last year the Sabres have one player worth watching.Girgensons. This season so far who is it again ? Girgensons. How is this guy not wearing an A for the future of this franchise ? Reinhart give him 5 games and send him to what ever place he has to go back to .Hes clearly not ready for the speed of the NHL.Parise as I expected looks like a guy getting ready to retire and with little left in his tank. After playing with the Devils and Canadians its understandable.Im happy with Stafford and Ennis as well and hopefully with Steward as the year progresses.Moulsons seems to have disappeared much like he did in Min.Hogie looks like another bust at Center.

Just watched the game. Meszaros is AWFUL. Reinhart looked better, and appeared to slow the play down when he had the puck. Moulson, gionta and a few others were damn near invisible.
