Not everyone in the NHL can be a leader. Why does weber have more leadership than Myers?

I don't care if he was a 1st overall or an undrafted schmuck from Southern Africa just like I don't care about his height, weight, past accolades, and marital status if he contributes to the team and can in the future I am good with it.

I am glad you want leaders. We all do but don't unrightfully label some random player as a leader just because of his draft position or past trophy.

I'm sorry but part of the problem with NHL players nowadays is they are all middle-class brats who could afford the thousands of dollars a year to play hockey in the first place and middle-class kids, for the most part, are all brats who act like its their right to be in the NHL. These guys make millions of dollars a year, they play in the most competetive, talented league possibly in the world and you are okay with them not being leaders? Just a bunch of clones pussing it up in a league full of cry-babies where parity between players is simply a result of athleticism and not talent/high-end skill. No other sport is so predominantly populated by the middle-class as Hockey, and I find it almost sickening at this point.

And that Weber has more heart than Myers makes him a better leader? I'd much rather have him on the team at this point and in the long run than Myers, tbh.

But why would we trade Myers for that? We already have enough (better) prospects, don't need to trade our best, possible star, defenseman for more.
- Herzeleid

you move him for that if Murray doesn't see him becoming that.

I already think Ristolainen is better, so no.

He definitely could be. But right now he's no where close.

If we trade Myers to the Ducks I want Devante Smith-Pelly and I would do it 1 for 1.

I know the whole team disappeared in the 3rd, but I couldn't honestly tell you that Reinhart even took a shift that period.
- stashu

That's because I don't think he did. McCormick was between Foligno and Stewart a couple times that I noticed.

Simply pointing out that the only other guy in the league even close to the same height as Myers also plays the same position, shoots right handed as well and took about 5, 6 years to fully develop. So, naturally, I can and will compare the two until Myers shows he is a completely different type of player or an eerily similar one. Its like comparing, oh, idk, Crosby to Yzerman? Not that I think Crosby is amoung the same caliber but similar height, age when entering the league, young captains who were offensivley gifted and won stanley cups when young captains of their respective teams who needed to (and in Yzerman's case did) become solid defensively and all around great players in order to take the next step/win their second Stanley Cup as leaders/premier players in the league.

Ya that's what I thought, it's just that I know you hate Myers so I was wondering why you would give points that actually support keeping him and not trading him.

Never said I hate Myers, and in fact, do not 'hate' him. I just never really liked him, even when he won the calder and with the stable of defensive prospects we currently have, his only real upside is his size and his trade value.

And you're right, all the reasons I listed for wanting to move him are also reasons to keep him, I'm just of the opinion that he should be moved and not kept. I know its only 2 games into the season, but he looks like he's floating and I wonder if Erhoff rubbed off on him the wrong way because he simply refuses to use his body and take control of the powerplay, let alone a shift or game.

Okay, maybe not quite 1 for 1 but who else would the Ducks be willing to part with that would be even worth it? And while a 1st rounder would be nice, we don't need another one unless its like a 2017 1st at this point.

I think Reinhart can stay too. He's getting better almost each shift
- sbroads24

He had his best game (pre-season included) tonight, he was more active.... He had a few shifts in the third but Nolan hasn't out him on the PP yet and he doesn't kill penalties yet either and there were a lot of penalties in the 3rd so that probably cut into his playing time.

They've got plenty of skill, I really believe it's the coaching (system) that's holding them back.

Well that was a good showing for a couple of periods Some decent effort but at least we seem to be on course for a good showing in the draft.

Zemgus, just awesome, Ennis scores on breakaway, Deslauriers misses, grrrrrrr.

THe whole defense per say was looking pretty bad at a lot of times.

Considering he is a follower and an under achiever I would take a 4th for him. I mean come on he is not a leader and a goof of a tall lanky fall all over hi ale not good at anything since his rookie year player.
