bold prediction- Grigorenko gets called up in early November and scores 20.

I don't follow football or the Bills so sounds good to me.

even better. you really have to love state and federal jobs for the benefits

I almost took a job with the state of TN... I was interviewed and they gave me the job on the spot but they wanted me to take a pay cut from the job I still had of about 13k. The interviewer even laughed at that and said sorry but that's what they start out at.

i like the grigorenko call. He looks like he is going to light up the "A." If he does he will surely be permanently called up

The kid worked hard all summer and looked good at camp. If he gets Hodgson and Gionta as his linemates and considerable pp time, no reason why he can't. Also, to shut up his critics, which I think is motivating him at the moment.

Honestly although i watched the game I do not remember much about the lines.
It seemed to be Grigs, Armia and Adam on that first line.
Carrier, Schaller and Ellis on the second

after that it seemed to be a crap-shoot... Lots of switching from what little I do remember.

Maybe Larsson, Varone and Dalpe
and then maybe Catenacci, Samuels-Thomas, A. Aliu... Although I think i have someone playing out of position on at least one of those last two lines.

Yea, I was gonna say how Enroth was pretty lucky the other night but didn't wanna start anything.

But I was thinking, I notice a lot of people hit the post when he's in goal. I wonder if it's because the shooters are trying to pick the corners on him. They are visible with his height

IMO it's do to his height. He's a small guy and when he drops down he doesn't have the shoulder height many do where the shoulder deflects the shot away from the net.

So in a way yes they are trying to pick the corners but they always do that.

Yea just seems like Enroth gets a lot of posts.

I actually thought he played well, but was pretty fortunate too

He does but its like I said, its do to he doesn't have the shoulder height to deflect the shots when he drops down. So the pipe is always exposed. Since these guys are always trying to snipe the corners(in general against all goalies), the pipe rings.

67's coach compares Konecny to Yzerman

The Ottawa 67's have found a new captain in last season's rookie of the year.

Coming off a disastrous opening road trip on which Ottawa went 0-3 and ahead of Friday night's home opener at TD Place, head coach Jeff Brown confirmed Thursday that forward Travis Konecny would wear the 'C' for the club this season.

Konecny, who led the 67's with 26 goals and 70 points last season, takes over from overager Brendan Bell, who will be an alternate captain this season.

“It's a huge honour for me and to be able to be the captain for an organization with such a historic background as Ottawa is pretty special,” Konecny said Thursday before hitting the ice for practice.

Wearing a letter on his jersey isn't a new concept for the native of Clachan, selected first overall in the 2013 OHL draft.

Konecny has been a captain on most teams he's played on to date, including leading Team Canada in August at the 2014 U18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

He said the added responsibility won't change what he brings on the ice.

“(I'll) just continue to what I do and make sure I'm a leader on and off the ice,” he said. “It's not any added pressure, I've just got to work hard and make sure the guys know I'm going to work hard each and every night for them.”

Konecny will look to lead by example Friday night as the club plays at home for the first time this year. Coming off that tough road trip, the captain said it's important not to dwell on the losses.

“Just clear our minds and make sure the past four games are behind us and make sure we're doing all the little things and working hard in practice,” he said of the team's focus heading into Friday.

Brown said Konecny's maturity and character made him confident he could fill the role, comparing qualities to a former Ottawa-area hockey star.

“(The) reason that the Detroit Red Wings made Steve Yzerman their captain, is the same reason that I'm making Travis Konecny our captain,” Brown said. “He's our future and he's a great leader and he's been captain everywhere he's been.”

Brown stressed the decision to give the captaincy to Konecny was “nothing against” Bell, whom he expects will help Konecny in the new role.

“(Bell) is every bit the leader TK is going to be,” Brown said.

As for only having one alternate, Brown said there's no rush to hand out a second “A” when there isn't an obvious captain.

“I don't feel comfortable giving it to anyone else right now,” he said. “It will become clearer over time who should be the next one.

Or you could just say "67's coach compares Konecny to Yzerman" and post the link. No need to post all the other stuff. If I were to guess many people glance over long winded posts (I know I do).
