ECHL is a prospect's last stop to nowheresville... once maybe could be a message/numbers thing... twice almost always means the org has given up on you.

All over Philly, Flyer fans are climbing off of bridges

The common hockey fan is generally a know-nothing mutant. For the most part, we grow up playing Baseball, football and basketball, so we can a basic understanding of how the game is played or the Xs and Os......hockey, not so much. With this being said, IMO, many people become fans of the game and sport but not students of the game.
I think a lot of it has to do with the way the game is presented by the local broadcast teams. I was fortunate to grow up under the tutlage of Gene Hart.
Gene had a special talent to be able to announce the playxplay and alsol teach the game and break it down situationally. guy was unreal......damn not enough time to finish my thought. Have to go back to work.

What I want to know is, how can anyone who knows anything about hockey hate Matt Read?!

Agreed. All losses are the same. No way one player could potentially have made that game winnable.

We even lost a few games during 09/10 with Pronger in the lineup. I mean, what's the point of having him if he's not going to single-handedly win every game for us?

My dad kept asking me over the years when the flyers would acquire a player that could actually play hockey. I took him to some San Jose games last year and he said it was nice to finally watch a team that's not frustrating to watch.

Do the Flyers defensemen wear skate protectors like this to protect their feet from shots?
