Yay, roster spot.

I have a feeling it's a favor for the player rather than a move to open up a slot for someone.

It's me but I'm not saying we should do it. I'm saying we're just going to be that bad.

I think it was Hextall's plan all along. Holmgren wouldn't do it because he botched it the last time and ended up with Luke Schenn out of a second overall pick so they promoted him.

Hextall traded Hartnell for Umberger? Signed Bellemare, Jones, Shultz, White & Del Zotto. Demoted all of our good young players to the minors or the CHL.

If this team isn't tanking then someone please explain all of this to me?

Rosehill didn't even stick...

this is devious and would require complicity from chairman Ed

How many players in this upcoming draft are considered can't miss top end studs?

Flyers formula: Take that number add 1 and that is where they will pick.

Unconditional = release so he can go to Europe, right?

Fair point. And I agree Marc. I think he's just fulfilling his contract, and then he will be gone.

so i'm moving again...just down the road to albuquerque...and while going through a box in the garage today i found my 89-90 flyers yearbook. i discovered they acquired ken wregget from toronto at the end of the year for 2 first round '89 draft picks. aside from hextall, they also acquired pete peters at the end of the year....what in the (frank)ing hell with the wregget deal? 2 first rounders??? jfc. there must have been some injury situation i don't remember.

the flyers were 36-36-8 that year for 80 (frank)ing points. they toppled top seed washington in the first round, then pittsburgh, before losing to the habs (who had 117 points that season) in the wcf featuring the infamous chelios-propp-hextall incident. not really a surprise to see why they missed the playoffs in '90 as they dismantled the team dumping some of my favorite players. what a (frank)ing poop show.

the other random thing i discovered while looking at the "in the system" section was that they signed nick kypreos as an undrafted free agent. that section was littered with utter failure.

The Rags just lost Dan Boyle last night to a broken hand. Out 4-6 weeks. Does the fact they have McDonagh, Girardi, and Staal help ease the blow of Boyle being out long term?

Are the Rags going to add a bum like Schultz to their lineup to replace Boyle? I'm not even sure who their 7th dman is.

- PLindbergh31

Really? Boyle? Guy is barley a top 4 anymore. When Girardi or McDonagh go down come back to me.

It's looking a bit like the Carter/Richards draft, but with two legit franchise players at the top.
