So you think they should panic because they're 2-0? Is Luke Schenn the only player who didn't play well? Look at the replay of the goals Joe, and tell me that you can honestly say Schenn is the main culprit.
- MJL

L. Schenn was better than his -5 would suggest. He had a better game in Boston. The team as a whole makes too many mistakes and they dont turn on the heat until they are down big. That effort needs to be there always.

No he's not the main culprit but he's the biggest dead weight. He gives you nothing out there on a regular basis. All the other players, even VL will give u offense from time to time.
- JoeRussomanno

I am more worried about B Schenn. Luke did not look good last night, but he was good in Boston. We have to face it..Luke is a 4 Dman at best and we lost the JVR trade. I don't want to trade him now but I would consider his brother especially if it was for D help.

I disagree Joe.

That's fine I have an unusual thought process but I think it's time to pull the plug on the Luke schenn show, give Alt a shot in the 6th spot.

we will get to see how vital coburn really is to this team.

didnt look through the entire thread. any free agent dman out there that might be able to help?

didnt see the game were schenn and DZ really that bad?

- rinaldo

Schenn was -5 but it really wasn't all on him. Mase didn't play that poorly although the 5th goal short side I think he wanted back.

Someone mentioned names of Derek Morris or another stiff who are still out there as UFA, but I can't see that helping at all.

It's a repeated question. Why isn't the urgency and emotion there all game like it was at the latter half of the 2nd period when they got back in the game?

So you think Alt partnered with Del Zotto is going to be better?

Haha.. yep.. I would say stay the course, don't need to call anyone up yet. This start is not shocking to me at all..I shudder to think if another Dman goes down though.
- Hextall271

Yes, if Del Zotto, or L Schenn go down they are doomed!

D could also have been beat from the back to backs. I hope and pray that Coburn is only out a couple weeks.

If they're not gonna move VL then they need Brayden to bear down and replicate what hartnell did on that line when he was effective; cause havoc in the crease, get under the other team's skin etc... Minus the duels with gravity of course.

To be completly honest...I rather them pull the plug on Grossman first.

I'd rather they get rid of VL but they'll likely move Schenn ... Both of them
- JoeRussomanno

Im honestly tired of the B.Schenn project. Cause thats exactly what he is. No puck control, and extremely average in all aspects of his game. SEE YA

Possibly but rolling schenn out there after 3 years, seeing the same routine of him constantly out of position, and expecting different results seems insane.

Grossmann has gone long stretches of good play for us and he's not in line for social security, his leash is longer for me.

If they were 2-0 and Luke schenn played well, i wouldn't be lobbying for a trade.

He's had double shooting % since he's been here, I think there's hope.

Hextall said that Coburn will be re-evaluated in the next couple of days, and I think a decision of some sort will have to be made if his injury will keep him out for an extended period.

I just hope Hexy stick with his 'patience' plan and doesn't do anything drastic. If it means a down year (meaning more down than we expected), this is the year for it to happen.

There's nobody in UFA right now who can likely be much more than a marginal upgrade.

If he did and they hit the rookie wall half way through (more likely in morins case) the this blows up in his face like commercial jets into NY skyscraper.

I think if you told Hextall Coburn would have a long-term injury right off the start, he would have kept Morin.
