Who saw the Kings getting beat 4-0? I didn't.

I didn't either, but man...that game was not an exciting one to watch. I was flipping between the bruins and habs games and then spent most of my time watching the canucks, saw a bit of the sharks and kings but neither of those teams really plays an exciting brand of hockey, or at least didn't last night.

I have friends that bet on hockey. I only watch hockey can care less about other sports but I'd never bet on it.

well, that and it's worse when you've had a number of years of frustration. I think a good portion of people who are frustrated with the previous year and waiting for months to get hockey going again tend to get a little touchy.

I do hope you guys get better quickly. I was hoping the Isles might move up for sam reinhart but that would have been impossible with calgary and the sabres looking for a top line center. He should be a very good one, reminds me a bit of Pierre Turgeon. Not necessarily the biggest or fastest, but very good vision on the ice and very gifted offensively. He may not stick this year but will be a fixture there as early as next season.

We seem to finally be on the right track. Darcy years have been frustrating to say the least. At least there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it's not a train.
And as Homie would say.. I welcome all.

Great work, good read man. You're what keeps me coming back to this site.

But it's the Atlantic now, not the Northeast

Big fan of Johansen so that helps. Like i said before i like the younger players on that team (jenner, wennberg, atkinson and potentially dano). Once they get guys like Murray and Dubinsky back in i think they can do well. I won't deny im being overly optimistic about them but I like their chances to do well again this year, especially if bobrovsky keeps it up.
- Sabresfan-365

They have a solid defense 1-6 too. No great ones (yet) but they all are 2-4 guys

"I actually thought McNabb was horrible. Slow-footed and shaky with the puck."

Not off to a good start apparently. I really hope Fasching turns out

I would mostly agree with this although I think with our additions on defense we're getting much closer to the same situation, provided Dehaan and visnovsky are healthy soon

I'm very torn.

I want them to play well, look like a real NHL team and win tonight.......buuuuuut, if they lose I'm ok with that too because I do want us to finish 30th when its all said and done. I'm very confused

I'll go on record now saying we will not finish 30th. If some people think that's obvious great, but I think a lot of people expect us to finish dead last.

Smartass.

Anyway, Rob Ray is on, and he was just saying that sending Reinhart back down to Jr with the expectation that he'll get bigger down there is unrealistic. With the amount of playing time he'll get, he'll have trouble maintaining his current size.

But, he then said something about saving a few of his 9 games for later in the year and then continued to mention for a few games after the WJC. Which, you can't do.

So who knows if he's right about part 1 at all.

I would like us to lose most games by a, say, 5-4 score. And have let's say 3 3-game win streaks, preferably involving back to backs against the Leafs.

This happens and I'll be a happy man.

I think the stability of the team puts them automatically out of 30th. A team like Carolina is bound to completely bottom out IMO.

I don't put much stock into what Ray says, he's been punched in the head a lot.

I don't think its about him getting bigger down there, that's off season stuff. I think its simply based on if he can play at the NHL level right now or not. Will 9 games be enough to tell? IDK

I also think Carolina finishes last if I had to bet. I just don't think, looking at our roster, that we are all that bad. Not a playoff team but not 30th either.

That's what he said. He was mostly just saying that because a lot of fans keep saying the reason he needs to go down is to get bigger. So he said that it's just not going to happen during the season. That's what you do in the off season. It's what summer is for.

With 3 1sts, we have the ability to acquire an impact player regardless of drafting him or trading for him. I wouldn't rule out our top 2 centers being Reinhart/Grigo in 2 years either.

I think it's just getting used to being hit by grown men and not junior players.

Well, the only place he's going to be able to do that, is here. So is sending him down really all that benefical to his development? I would say no. I don't think sending him down is detrimental either. Honestly, I have no issue with their decision about keeping him or sending him back either way.

This synopsis is dead-on-balls-accurate Mike.

Ive got two comments.
1. Anyone that thinks Buffalo will surprise some people they are wrong. Goaltending will average out the curve.
2. I think people are on crack if they think the Isle's are going to be a team that competes for a playoff spot. Regardless of the two late pick ups on D they are a bad team. If Tavares ever gets hurt again they will challenge Buffalo for the bottom spot.

- Pairo11

I agree, they all think their team is a lock to make the playoffs now

maybe their pick is 6-10 instead of 2-6 now?
