Lol, just moved back from 2 years in Binghamton this past July. seriously, NEVER GO TO BINGHAMTON. They forgot to nuke it. People who think Buffalo is bad need to spend some time there. I've never met more abusive, miserable, racist, ignorant people in my life and I've lived in several different places.

Well, I'll let it slide...this time.

Only been in Binghampton once and it was for a concert almost 2 years ago now. Drove in, saw the concert, drove home.

But yes, the full Casino operation has been open since last summer. They had a small building with just slots in it for years before that.

The temporary casino went up 7/4/7.

So it was open prior to your Binghamton ordeal.

I can see how someone would forget. I did. And I've had my season tickets for 5 years now, so what's my excuse??

They never did any advertizing for it really and it was so small with only slots that it's easy to forget about it.

Well, just searched it. The temporary spot was easy to miss. Don't watch the news and don't pay attention to anything Casino related. but that new building is sure ugly and I had only just moved back from a few months in Charlotte that winter so a warehouse with slots was easy to miss, plus, went to high school in the southtowns. Meh, still think its more bad than good for a city. Lived in the 'Burgh summer 2010 and the casino was sketchy, plus, mostly empty.

So did I but there was a giant metal skeleton up for almost 2yrs prior the temporary one that went up.

If you parked in the lots across the street from Cobblestone or came up Ohio st to Michigan you couldn't miss it.

Maybe I'm just more attentive to my surroundings then most?

Never spent much time around Ohio/Michigan or the arena. Always came up the 400 to the 90 and got off on elm street, hit up Pearl street fow a few and walk. furthest I've gone past the arena on foot is Benchwarmers and that was usually at night.

Dk what to tell you then.

I don't watch the news either but the whole casino thing was a process that went on for a decade or longer. Several lawsuits.

A casino in Downtown Buffalo would be worse than a projects. That Casino in Niagara Falls has been nothing but bad for the city there. With gambling comes crime, prostitution, drugs and I personally don't want some/another fascist, corporate looking building in Buffalo.

Crime at a casino? FYI Bugsy Malone is dead. Prostitution? This isn't Vegas. Drugs? You're on drugs.

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there. Indian casinos or not, they definitely promote prostitution and crime, drugs maybe not so much anymore because those thing are everywhere but that being said, after looking up the Buffalo Creek Casino, its relatively small and something like the Allegheny casino might not be what I'm talking about anyway but you mean to tell me that something like the Seneca-Niagara Casino i.e. a giant corporate looking phallus smack in the middle of an already poverty-stricken town (see: Niagara Falls, NY) isn't going to promote prostitution? And to think money isn't being laundered is naive. Where there are hotels, there are hookers, and where there are casinos there is money. I'm not talking 1930s gangster bullocks, I'm talking "modern" crime. Human-trafficking, prostitution, dirty money, etc...

Like I said, I highly doubt Buffalo Creek Casino is full of hookers and dirty money since its a smaller operation but NF, Canada, Atlantic City, NJ, etc. All still have smaller scale crime/prostitution. Its way more common than most people believe, but not on the scale of Las Vegas, obviously.

I was also pointing out that "projects" aren't really any worse than casinos. People on projects are usually oppressed and forced into poverty and unfortunately, with poverty, comes crime and etc. Not always. But being poor is a forced condition.

I've been to both casinos and Canada. Just regular people, tourists etc. Just entertainment. Now you haven't been to any. So you can't defend your comments. I've been to Vegas and the hookers were annoying. Seen nothing like that around here. Also, as to your claims of money laundering, the NYS gaming commission is right there. So you're wrong on that point too. Times have changed.
