My main complaint when I take the train is the amount of guys in their early 20s that run onto the train afterwards and take a seat. Then there's always a few much older people that get on that have to stand because the seating is all occupied. I was always taught that you allow the older folk that need the seat more to have it.

Common courtesy isn't so common anymore.

'Tis not. I of COURSE would give up my seat to old people...

Right, that's the part I meant. I know you have to pay to get from Fountain Plaza to UB already.

Speaking of which, I couldn't believe how full the train was yesterday still when I got off at Fountain Plaza. Usually there's only a handful of people left. It was practically standing room only still when I got off.

I drove down to Cobblestone.

F me I hate parking on that side of the arena.

I don't sit down even if there are seats available when I get on. First of all, once it gets crowded, I don't really want someone else's ass right in front of my face. Secondly, I'm fully capable of standing. Thirdly, if you sit down, it's hard to make your way to the door to exit when you get to your stop.

More trains (requires system upgrades) - I chatted about that a couple threads ago.

Plus, I live a long walk from the first station... so my ass and elbows will have a seat

Also, not everyone will take the train. If they did, they could then afford to massively expand it.

- nfph

The train will run there...perhaps the city/county will wise up and undertake a massive work, like the big dig in beantown...finally run the train to UB north and maybe to the Galleria and airport.....
I would also imagine the roads will be upgraded widen the streets and expand the 190 in that area to accommodate more traffic

I don't mind it, but that's the direction I live in. I was parked in the Augspurger ramp since it was free. We walked down but took the train back. Thought I was going to blow away on the way to the FNC.

For me, depending on the ass I guess I don't mind. Second, I'm actually likely to give it to someone eventually who needs it more. Third, I usually get off when everyone else does.

But I consider your points valid

If I park coser to the Pearl St I can avoid all that Michigan Ave chaos and just go the 190 route North. Takes 1/2 the time.

I park on the street at or near Ohio Street. Cut back to Miami Street, avoid all the traffic completely and get on the I-190 North or South at Louisiana Street.

Best part, it's free too.

Can't really do that right now. It's all closed for construction. Ohio St is closed.

I usually park on Erie st and or the lots that are right there across from the Marine drive apartments. Its not too bad of a walk except last winter when the windchill was -18. Getting out is a little slow but not awful.

edit: I also get the privilege of walking through the naval park and across the bridge to canalside.

after watching the game, rrrrrrrrrrrrr, here goes

home opener and the effort was blah at best

blue jackets out worked them
a few stupid penalties (lazy)

here is what ticks me off, the sabres that did not show, are the same ones in our lineup for years

gionta, gorges, moulson, mesz, benoit were fine
girgs, was fine
foligno was a nice surprise

staff, coho, ennis, myers, weber all seemed disinterested at times

sam looks timid, see gringo under ruff

rant over

- homiedclown

Gionta Benoit and meszaros were mediocre at best. Thought myers played well but I guess that's just me

The streets in and around it are still open though, right off South Park. Did it for one of the preseason games.

Gionta isn't going to do anything special this year. It's all about "the little things" that he teaches the younger players.

There's still some open, but a large chunk of it is inaccessible.

There were about half as many people at the preseason games, so I wouldn't count on it for a regular season game unless you plan on getting there really early.

The ramp blows anyways. You have to show up really early and either leave really early or really late.

They were all closed last night.

Ohio st was only open if you were a member of Bison City.

You could make your way to the free lots between Ohio and Chicago but that was as far as you could go.

Vic Carrucci went out of his way to point out that the Pegula press conference today will have a higher profile today than when he bought the Sabres in 2011 "because as popular as hockey might be in Western New York, Buffalo was, is, and always will be a Football Town! Period."

I will be simply because it will be on in the breakroom at work, and I'd rather do that, than, you know, work.

It's on at 4 on a Friday. I will also be looking for something else to do other than work.
