A friend of mine plays softball every summer at one of the baseball diamonds over there. When the guy that runs the league went to renew the permit for next year, he was told no because they were told not to allow any permits to be placed on anything in that area.

Same dont need this around us all year. Id like to keep him but if its going to be a topic all year trade him now
- yen6d1

I thought the bulk of our trading was done. After seeing last nights product(I know its only 1 game) and hearing this it makes me want to shelf my fan hood and interest in this team for a few years.

If it's only the draft why meet with the mayor?

Could be both my guy is still saying it's the All Star Game

Fouthperiod saying it's un officially going to Toronto for there centennial anniversary. Plus Vogl said no but who knows, could be something entirely different in the works.

I have the same friend as Goose....and he told me the same story...apparently the guy who was denied the permits asked a friend of his who used to report for citadel communications and still had a few sources with the county and they were pretty tight lipped (probably because pegula was not confirmed yet) but it looks like that area along Louisiana will be wide lots for the stadium where tailgating will still be allowed.

It will be a lot better on the eyes than what is there now.

I wouldn't worry, I can't see this kind of product being put on the ice beyond this year. Even if you're on the tank/play for picks bandwagon, the three 1sts will give them enough depth/ammunition (in a top heavy draft) that will allow them to be aggressive much sooner.

Cool. Lots of places to play softball, lots of vacant housing in need of residents. Those towers are an eyesore and a giant "STAY AWAY" sign for the waterfront / outer harbor.

I swear... we're supposed to respect our elders and all but the people who ran this town from the 40s - 80s were freaking idiots.

Robert Moses in particular resides in a special circle of hell... where it's a nonstop series of exits and onramps he has to drive all day.

I dk if I hate it he has not impressed me in preseason or last night....he seems to still take a lot of bad angles and be out of position especially when it comes to the opposing blue line..idk if the received a good offer I hope they would listen
- aschwach

BTW - we should settle up on the postseason pool sometime

I hate to bubble burst but this rough outline is the required parking. I have no idea how they will pull this off in the city.

Well, you don't need quite as much parking if they're going to be running the metro to the stadium. There will be people who will use that as their means of transportation down there. Plus, in some places they can put ramps instead of just surface lots, for those folks that don't have access to the metro but don't feel the need to tailgate.

after watching the game, rrrrrrrrrrrrr, here goes

home opener and the effort was blah at best

blue jackets out worked them
a few stupid penalties (lazy)

here is what ticks me off, the sabres that did not show, are the same ones in our lineup for years

gionta, gorges, moulson, mesz, benoit were fine
girgs, was fine
foligno was a nice surprise

staff, coho, ennis, myers, weber all seemed disinterested at times

sam looks timid, see gringo under ruff

rant over

More trains (requires system upgrades) - I chatted about that a couple threads ago.

Plus, I live a long walk from the first station... so my ass and elbows will have a seat

Also, not everyone will take the train. If they did, they could then afford to massively expand it.

And there is kind of a lot of low-value land in that area, and very very few sacred cows.

bills fans are spoiled with the great parking lot to tailgate

down here it's 30 cars here, 20 cars there, park in a few front yards and wherever you park, it's $30

The whole thing would have to be upgraded. But, it would reduce the amount of parking they would need as well as the amount of traffic in the area. I wouldn't be surprised if they start charging for it though.

Well, the above ground portion.

Maybe on game days.

My main complaint when I take the train is the amount of guys in their early 20s that run onto the train afterwards and take a seat. Then there's always a few much older people that get on that have to stand because the seating is all occupied. I was always taught that you allow the older folk that need the seat more to have it.

Common courtesy isn't so common anymore.

Right, that's the part I meant. I know you have to pay to get from Fountain Plaza to UB already.

Speaking of which, I couldn't believe how full the train was yesterday still when I got off at Fountain Plaza. Usually there's only a handful of people left. It was practically standing room only still when I got off.

Expansion will hopefully happen. I know to some degree there are because they are making more access for the Medical campus that will actually be south of the arena.
