Let's be honest. We knew this team didn't have a good defense with Kimo and Coburn. Take them 2 out and this is what happens.
- jstross

I don't think people realized how much of the heavy lifting those two did last season. People just saw the gaffs, but those two held this thing together. Without them, I don't see how this defense can survive. 5 goals to the (frank)ing Devils. Devils will likely finish in the bottom 5 in goals scored this season.

Brayden seems like an offensive player that would benefit from a player that chews up space. He doesn't skate terribly well. He doesn't own the circle. He seems to be a guy that can find open spaces to score goals, but if he's not on a line where there's a lot of open space, he disappears.

That's what I think too. Lets go get Howden from Florida!

They were bad, but gap control was an issue. Yet again.

That is something that should be coacheble, right?

Kimmo was our smartest Dman and Coburn was our best skating Dman...so.....that looks like trouble.

This defense just needs so much help from the forwards. It's like they need their hands held as they walk across the street, to the grocery and all the way home.

I always said that people didn't want to see this team without Coburn

Didn't need to be right on that one and definitely didn't need to see it two games in

I think B. Schenn still has some potential and can get better but I also think he was overrated by both LA in drafting him what 8th overall and the Flyers when they traded for him. Thank god Simmonds came in that deal as well.

he'll got right back to the top line in the next game. berube was trying to mix it up late. no big deal.
- hammarby31

Oh I agree about tonight. I know Chief had to shift things. I was just speaking in terms of as the season progresses. Should Brayden not start the game on the 1st line. I just think these guys will figure it out eventually.

The D was the Achilles heel last year....and their best d man might as well be retired....no upgrades or changes that could make them better....they are what they are a below average, over paid group that didn't get better because of the summer vacation.
A very mediocre team last year, that really needs the young guys to take a step forward....not sure I see any improvement, but it is only two games....and at least we have a GM now that realizes that they must be patient and hold onto young assets.

Basically, Wayne Simmonds kinda willed the Flyers back into that game. He was a force.

They need more of that from others.

haven't had a chance to catch any updates ... is Coburn out long?

I know a lot of you guys hate him, but the alternative is pretty scary.

I must say the Penn State offensive line looks like the Flyers defense. Saturday night could be a rough one, but I'm hoping for 2-0!

I don't like to say this.. but I think Hexy has to make a move if he can... it might be a UFA signing, but we might be last overall with this d corps.
