OK, wait a minute. Now, they're gonna drop the puck and play, but yeah, it is a huge deal

Coburn out a while. Not day to day

- Jsaquella

Another (de-facto) #1 dman lost to injury... just business as usual in Flyerland.

No, it's not a huge deal. Players are going to miss games due to injury. It's why you have a 7th defenseman obviously.

You adapt.
You overcome.

And this is the guy who, just this morning, people wanted to trade for a forward.

Bettman's still working on the fine print.
- tangent_man

Ugh. I just picture him drawing up a contract with a quill and that evil (frank)ing look on his face

Not reported yet. If he is, the Flyers are (frank)ed.
- Jsaquella

What are the chances they leave things as they are and let him go on LTIR for the next three years a pretend no one can see it?

That seems the most likely scenario knowing the NHL like I do. Then there will be a media uproar and they'll pass a rule to get these guys off the books but keep their dollars against the cap.

Nah. It's game 2. 2/3 of the NHL are missing their top 2 guys. All around the NHL dmen dropped like flies from blood clots during camp, and just last night Doughty, Phaneuf, Chara, and Subban got hurt.

At pregame media availability, Berube said the lineup would be the same as last night. Coburn was a late scratch.
- bmeltzer

Mason tripped him out of spite.

Who knows?

Colin Campbell was in charge of discipline and writing e-mails to Stephen Walkom criticizing penalties called against his kid, so it's not as if the NHL really has an issue allowing the appearance of a conflict of interest happen.

We've got a 13th forward, too, you wanna go without Voracek?

That's the only issue I see. I don't see a cap issue. Pronger is still technically paid by the Flyers and is a Flyers employee. They'll keep him away from anything to do with the Flyers. But how about one of their rivals? Such as the Rangers or the Pens? I don't think it's a good idea because of that.

That doesn't make any sense. Unless you think I want to play without Coburn? They call it a team for a reason.
