perfectly said and would be applicable to myself...look people can do what they want i really dont care as long as its not going to directly affect myself.

ex.) having some falling on you all game because they cant stand up and spilling beer on your jersey (has happened before) is not okay

- gerbe42

I have no problem with people that want to be that drunk, as long as they're not causing any trouble with me.

So as long as they don't throw up on me or keep touching me in some way, have at it.

You can still go to the game and enjoy it sober, buzzed or drunk. If you dont want to be around others who drink then there are options. Just dont tailgate and sit in the family section that doesnt allow alcohol. Then you can enjoy the game without any rowdiness. I just get sick of everyone whining about how offended they are when they have to deal with a drunk person every once in a while.

Personally I like the party atmosphere of tailgaiting, going in buzzed and buying 2 beers for the game to keep it going. Bring a sandwich for halftime and you're all set in my book.

There's a difference between going into a game buzzed and going into a game obliterated. The latter makes you a jackass.

Wrong. I sit on the lawn more offen than not because it affords me the opportunity to go to more events. You're still there hearing the music live. A TV recording or the produced album sounds much different.
- HonkFortheGoose

U literally only go to concerts to hear live music?!?? It's equally as unmerable as getting hammered partying with their friends all day up until the concert. Simple solution. Go to 1 less event and buy better tickets to avoid the drunks.

Buzzed is fine, falling down/passing out drunk is different.

I know you weren't addressing me but I, for one, wasn't whining. Just stating my personal choice on the topic at hand.

And don't think the family section is any different. That is where I took my daughter the last time I went to the game. It was full of drunks who were still drinking. There was nothing family friendly about it.

Which is fine. I'm not complaining. I made a choice a long time ago to stop going to games.

If they changed the environment completely I would consider going to a game again. If not, I'll let the 70,000+ that go to games now continue to do so and I'll just watch on TV. I would rather deal with my kids complaining that I'm watching sports again then deal with some hot head that had a few too many.

As far as I knew, that was the main reason most people go. Because they enjoy the music of whatever artist the concert is for.

I'm so glad that you've clued me in on how wrong I'm living my life. I don't know what I would have done without you.

In short, any venue that's conducive to allowing to you bring and consume your own alcohol is going to have this problem.
- buffalofan19

It's a simple "dont be an bumhole" rule. Do what you want, just don't get in the way of other people enjoying themselves, and don't go so far you can't remember what happened.

Simple rule, but a lot of people have trouble with it.

Don't get me wrong I drink. I drink at Bills games and Sabres games. I can handle my poop. My point was half of people are saying that if the Bills games are downtown there wont be tailgating at that ruins it for them. Then there is another half of people who think the games are already ruined because of the idiots.

I think the problem with Bills games is people show up piss drunk. People get drunk at Sabres games, but they don't arrived wasted before faceoff. So if the guys next to you gets drunk, he's annoying for half a period. Totally different.

People do dumb things. Smart people protect themselves and learn from past experiences. Others demand that dumb people stop being dumb. I wonder which 1 will work out....

I'm sure the fan that was sitting in club seats last year that had the drunk idiot fall on them from the upper level was at fault then, right? Based on your theory. They must not have protected themself from the drunk idiot.

Agreed. However, that still doesn't change the fact that in an atmosphere like that, the bumholes are going to come out to play.

There's also the fact that people have different tolerance levels.

For example, say you, me, and Goose are all in the same section. I've probably had more beverages than is prudent. I start to say or do something a little obnoxious (but not harmful). You might get annoyed, but, at the same time, it might not bother Goose at all.

True to a point. Pretty sure if you yell constant obscenities and vomit on people, spill/throw your drink, you'll be annoying to us both. Difference is Goose will punch you right in the face.

First game vs Miami the guy sitting next to me was drunk and passed out for a majority of the game. Didnt bother me at all, me and my buddy just laughed at him and kept watching the game. His head hit my shoulder a few times and I just shoved him off.

Beer spilling is going to happen, especially when you have so many people constantly jumping up and moving around with beers in hand.

I never said I was offended. I just said that it's not much fun when someone else, especially someone you don't know, throws up on you at one of these events.

There's only so much someone can do to "proctet themselves" as you put it. I shouldn't have to spend twice as much to sit in a seat (which isn't necessarily that much closer to the stage) just to keep some drunk idiot from ruining my evening. There's plenty of drunk people in the seats. And why should I have to limit myself to less events just to try and avoid the drunks?

Here's the thing, I have Sabres seasons in the 300 level. I could just as easily give up my seaons and spend the same amount that I do on tickets to sit in the 100 level by buying single games, but I'd rather get to go to 20 games than only get to go to 3 or 4.
