He's been pretty good. As has Lecavalier.
- MJL

Giroux needs to step it up. Where's the magic?

VL will score the first goal of the season .... I'm sticking with my pick there

Because he accurately broke down the Coburn PK gaff?

I'm sure Rinaldo will get blamed for taking that penalty that led to the goal, but wtf was Coburn doing on the PK?
He left his side of the ice to go after a puck behind the goal line on the opposite side, leaving the crease wide open.
Dumb dumb play by a veteran defenseman.

- Marc D

It was a cascade of stupidity. Dumb penalty by Zac, poor positional play by Coburn, end up with everyone on one side of the ice and it leads to wide open tap ins

Overall, solid game by the Flyers. Bit out of sync, but they're holding their own.

They've played a pretty solid game. But they just haven't generated enough offense. The Giroux line isn't doing much offensively. Really the Lecavalier line has been the best offensive line. But they need more from the Giroux and Couturier line offensively. Flyers haven't had a lot of quality chances in this game.
- MJL

All true.

G's unit needs to get going...part of that is due to Bergeron et al though. It's not like that line has been totally invisible, which is something to at least try to label as a silver lining.

Let's go here in the 3rd. Now's the time to see if those Berube bag skates did the trick!!

I feel like the Flyers have muffed up three separate 2 on 1s too.

Yeah they're getting there I think. Forcing plays a bit here and there - specifically unforced passes that amount to turnovers. Patience is a virtue (and hopefully a goal or 3).

They absolutely blew a 3-on-1 when Rinaldo drew that soft slashing call on Seidenberg.

They've gotten better as the game has gone on. We're gonna win this game, so long as they come out and play well in the first 5 minutes here.

If the Bruins commit a penalty in this period, look out.

They look solid overall, not great, but solid. PP is a mess, but they really didn;t have key guys all preseason, so it's gonna be a work in prgress

you don't really HAVE to say that unless you're already trolling 40 minutes into the season.

Yeah. Puck has really been bouncing on them. I'm not sure if it's early season struggles or bad ice or just hard hands.

As long as G has rust (no preseason...) to shake off, that first unit is gonna be meh

Just seems like the wrongs guys keep getting the puck on the 2 on 1s. Just kind of unlucky.

The No Corsi For Old Men line has looked really good so far
- Jsaquella

Coots line w/ CF near 70%,
L4 a bit above break-even,
Vinny in the 50%'s, Umberger/Raffl in the mid 30%'s,
1st-line in the high 20%'s.

Would love to see Simmonds get a shot with G and Jake at 5 on 5 at some point. Feeling like line#1 is a little undersized against this D.

Time for Raffl, G, Jake and Schenn to go. Hopefully, they still have value
