I do not have a troll account. We beefed up our scoring lines and now can roll 4 lines. Our d is..well...slow but seemed to do very well to get us into the playoffs last year. I dont see a let down and I dont see them worse then the 3rd seed in the division.
- jmdodgeser4

Please explain, because you seem to be the only one aware of the moves that resulted in said "beefing". Does Hextall even know? I don't think they count if he doesn't.

Bravo, EK. This is gold to put up on the site and get traffic and replies. I was expecting you to troll everyone and put the Flyers at 3rd or 4th, but 2nd, just amazing trolling. You just sucker people into debating your garbage, and that's where you get your hits...

The Islanders improved their team significantly, which you mention. You say that their D will still struggle a little, but they will likely have a top 5 offense to go with a good goalie. Yet, they're in 5th in division?

The Pens will drop two spots in the division they won by 13 points last year, while suffering the most man games lost? They shed dead weight in Orpik, Engelland, Glass, Vitale, Pyatt etc and replace them with Comeau, Spaling, Goc and others, but their bottom six is worse?

The Flyers replace Hartnell with Umberger, lose Timonen, and do absolutely nothing else, and they move up in the standings??? Bravo to your trolling, EK. Never mind actual facts, just make things up about your team that fit your views.

They added bellemor and jones to the wings. Gives us speed up and down our line up . Something we didnt have last year with our 4th line .

Literally the only thing he got right here was Carolina. They are a virtual slam dunk lottery team this season.

Ok but that doesn't really count as beefing up your scoring lines.

Right, while Boyle is no longer in his prime he can certainly fill in for stralman and at the same time provide significantly more offense. The rangers don't need Boyle to be a Norris caliber defender. They have Ryan mcdonagh for that and Girardi and Staal behind him who are 2 of the best at shutting down the oppositions best players.

Losing Brian Boyle does hurt on the PK but we saw last year in the Olympics that Rick Nash is capable of filling that hole. Nobody wants to mention the addition of St Louis who obviously didn't get his feet underneath him until the middle of the playoffs, or the continued development of players like hagelin Kreider and Stepan.

What cracks me up is these players were viewed as overrated when they were on the rangers and now that they're gone they are "key losses" give me a break.

Did the Flyers do something to get better than I missed? From what I recall all their offseason developments have been negative:

-Kimmo gone
-Downgrade from Hartnell to Umberger
-Vinny a year older/more badder
-Add Amac and Del Zotto, subtract Gustaffsson

...?

- TheJerseyDevil1

For once I'm simpatico with a Devils fan that team is lucky to finish top 4, that defense isn't very good

Ek, did you see what a 19 year old with 0 professional experience did to the flyers top 2 defenders in the preseason? Yeah, wasnt pretty.

Well I wouldnt consider nick leddy a difference maker. I wouldnt consider boychuk anything more then a 3/4 defender, an upgrade? sure for that team. Grabovski? oh come on..you consider that a difference maker? Starting goalie? You may have one there. Overall..not too much in terms of big improvment .
- jmdodgeser4

Leddy is better than Amac
Boychuck is better than anything you have defensively besides maybe Coburn.
Grabovski would be your 2nd line center. So would Nielsen. So would Nelson. Maybe even Strome.
If healthy our defense blows yours away currently.

Amac is poop.

He was a 2/3 on boston and wouldve been on your first pairing last year and this. He hits.plays on the pp effectively and is good in his own end. That to me is a difference maker.
- Cptmjl

Yea that 1 career PPG really makes him effective.

According to you he's a top pairing defensemen on just about every team. Amazed only a 2nd and 3rd rounder was the cost.

Duclair was beating Coburn to the outside whether it was Pre season, Regular Season, Post season or off season

Grabovski our second line center? Reaching much? Our second line center should be schenn but right now its vinny. Havent seen him in the preseason huh? May wanna check his game out. Looks nothing like the vinny of last year. I woudlnt take grabo on my team for center over anybody we have. g, coots, schenn, vinny.

I think they're both good but let's just see how good they really are, they did come from Chicago and Boston, either way they are an upgrade to the Isles defensive corps
