You have it all wrong. It's okay, though, it's not the first time.

And won't be the last.

Did the Flyers do something to get better than I missed? From what I recall all their offseason developments have been negative:

-Kimmo gone
-Downgrade from Hartnell to Umberger
-Vinny a year older/more badder
-Add Amac and Del Zotto, subtract Gustaffsson

...?

- TheJerseyDevil1

1) Kimmo wasn't that good anymore. His age was showing last season, great passer still but defensively he was slowing down.

2) Hartnell and Umberger both suck, no downgrade or upgrade there

3) Lecavalier is healthy and in better shape and had a good preseason.

4) AMac and MDZ are good Dmen, they aren't great but solid enough to not be liabilities and Gustuffsson was garbage. Guy played 30 games last season and couldn't make the roster in several seasons with the club.

5) Flyers issues last season was poor conditioning and poor defensive play by the team. Flyers are in much better physical condition and a 2nd year on a new system will obviously see some improvements. Not to mention Giroux, B.Schenn, Couturier, Simmonds and Voracek are going to continue to get better

I don't agree that the Flyers are a 2nd place team but they are a 3rd or wild card team.

Nah

1)Rangers
2)Pens
3)Flyers
4)Columbus
5)NYI
6)Caps
7)New Jersey
8)Carolina

Rangers are strong all over. Despite all the hate I believe Tanner Glass makes them better defensively

Pens are Pens, Hornqvist won't replace Neal although for sake of my fantasy team I hope so.

Flyers are better internally. Better conditioned, young players improving and more time under the new defensive system

Columbus Same as the Flyers minus the conditioning part. They will heavily rely on Wisnewski, Johansson and Bobrovski. Hartnell will flop and perform at par with Umberger

Isles will get a boost out of the upgraded D but it won't be enough

Caps have no 2nd line threat, slightly better D and questionable goaltending

NJ will struggle. Clowe, Havlat and Ryder will not perform. Cammalerri will not perform to the best of his ability, Schnider has never played an NHL season as a starter and his endurance will be tested

Canes Poor Offense, Poor defence, Questionable goaltending (Kudobin has to replicate his good season and Ward has to improve after a horrid year)

Didn't Columbus blue jacket fight for playoff spot last season? Scott Hartnell is not a team to build around, so I don't see him improving the jackets. He barely replaces Umberger at best. I call biased right there. Flyers as first is a little stretch, I still think Pittsburgh will be first in division even after loosing key players. They were 20 some points ahead of the rest of the pack mid way through last season:

1. Pens
2. Flyers
3. Rangers
4. Islanders
5. New Jersey
6. Blue Jackets
7. Capitals
8. Carolina

That's exactly what's wrong with them. They are liabilities.

Actually haven't I do know Meltzer believes Rangers will be 1st but I said it first. Have been saying it since August.
