I am leading the charge doing all the concrete at Canal side for the Pike Corporation.
The outdoor skating rink (curling) rink.
I'll be down there until at least mid November is my estimate.
Directly across from Harbor center I am at, the old Memorial Auditorium site.

That's awesome, ya we have like a couple hundred concrete cylinders in our cure room for that project. Looks awesome so far can't wait for to skate there this winter!

They have the first harbour center festival planned I think the 18th of Oct. ? They are gonna have it outside at canalside.

We certainly won't be done by then.
I think I have at least 18 concrete pouring days which does not include my prep days.
I think all of my concrete should be done by mid November for sure.

Do you guys ever take on apprentices ? I've been looking all over the place for trade schools for after I graduate this year and haven't had much luck.

I'm glad he is here as our coach. At least you know he will get the team to play as one . We don't have any high profile players to stir the pot so everything should work easily. If we we would have hired some one else , we wouldn't know what to expect or how the team would respond. Also I hate the comments the he isn't a X&O type coach. We have enough behind the bench to get that part covered.

Today though , I let Tommy from Pike see my not so happy side today by jumping with all my weight in a bunch of 10 foot wide sidewalk I had just poured when he came and said the elevations that were given to me were wrong by the site contractor (Pinto) .
I almost had a stroke I think.
That has been happening with far too much regularity there.
Happened to me Friday on a simple paver base area where the surveyor was off 4 and 1/2 inches with my end of paver base pour and once again I had to fix his (frank) up with 10 white hard hats standing around watching, concrete trucks lined up and rain on the way.
I think I need blood pressure pills just from fixing everyone else's screw ups down there.

The Local #210 is always looking for apprentices.
You just have know someone to get you started .
Let me know.
I have some pull down there.
I grew up with our head BA (Business agent) and the very head of the local #210.
Apprenticeship is a process but in the end , worth it.
You just have to be patient and when you are dispatched to contractors make sure you show a very strong work ethic and an ability to get along with all.
Eventually one of those Contractors will want to keep you and then you become a company man like me.
Don't ever be a stiff or a poop stirrer or you will find yourself on the out of work list more than you want to be.

I work for a municipality in the summer I know the routine, I just keep my head down, do my job and offer to help when needed. Thanks for the info, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life so any info is much appreciated.
