i'm so excited, LGR. i really feel this is going to be the year, monster year for nash, stepan and kreider, hags making progression, the zucc and brass tandem keeping it going. young stars like duclair and miller, and don't forget about little guy MSL and our top 5 defense and best goalie in the world.
I never had the feeling the rangers could dominate every team but now I do, with a bit of luck we could be the best team out there, this is our year!!!!

Now thats what I'm talkin about..good ole fashion optimism..my favorite position
I 've been like a rolling boil of fluid ...i see us with so many options now & thru out the year... Slats has stayed one step ahead it seems , 25 % roster turnover i think
will be the advantage ..fresh pages, no carry over or hangover from finals with so many fresh hungry guys either brought in or coming up....L G R see ya for amirantes banner

Not that it was any type of revenge but I'm glad the Sharks shut out the Kings last night, that was a weak ceremony, they must have been still unloading the Dodgers bandwagon

Hopefully Kreider will be leading the league in scoring after tonight and Duclair will lead all rookies

Granted its game 1, but a good test against a big physical Blues team.

as much as I hate him, you guys do have PK so don't feel too bad. I could only imagine what it would be like to have both of those guys on your roster but just remember, McD was a throw-in because the rumor was he wouldn't sign in MTL so you would have lost him anyway when he graduated.

I don't feel too bad for them, they won the Stanley Cup in 1971 and got to draft Guy Lafleur first overall in the draft a month later, they deserve 10 McDonagh deals to happen to them for that absurdity.

That was via a trade with LA yes?
Can't remember the details but
Wasn't Bob Nevin involved? Or was that
A separate deal that actually helped the Kings
To get out of the bottom spot and allow
The Habs to pick at #1?
I read somewhere that they made a serious
Effort to also get the #2 pick so they could
Have Dionne AND lafluer. Can you imagine?

Nhl . Com has their rankings and they say NYR are 14th because the corsi of Boyle stralman and pouliot are better than D Boyle stempniak and lombardi. So we've regressed as a team

We'll see how good Stralman is without Staal as a partner and Hank bailing him out whenever teams had a scoring chance while he was on the ice.

The fact that people think Brian Boyle is going to be missed is absolutely hysterical.

Pouliot was a good player but my god these "experts" need to settle down on how good he actually was. The man was effective but took a ton of careless penalties; many of them in the offensive zone.

Let the experts say what they want. Who takes these people seriously anyway? As soon as I was old, and smart enough, to realize these paid professionals get it wrong the same amount, if not more so than most fans, I ceased to stop caring about what I read.

I couldn't stand to watch the pre-game but my cousin echoed your same sentiments. He said that was the lamest banner raising he has ever seen.

The year the Rangers were picked to finish dead last, in 05-06 and by many media outlets, but were in first place all season until the very last day? Yea, that was the year the media lost a bulk of their credibility with me.

They throw sh!t on a wall, every year, to see if it sticks. Rarely, if ever, it does.

Its funny because the media tends to have their biases. Boston & Pitt no matter what they do in the offseason will always be on top according to the media. Granted they have been good but its just assumed they will be 1st. Other teams will always get higher rankings because what they did on paper in the offseason. Rangers other than one year that I could remember(think it was the year we traded for Nash)always seem to rank us much lower than what we accomplished the year before.

there is an overwhelming sentiment that the Rangers run was a fluke and they'll never replace the guys they lost. Whatever, I am just taking names right now.

I prefer it when the Rangers are flying under the radar. Makes their successes that much sweeter because we, as fans, can throw it in the faces of anyone that doubted them from the start.

To be honest, I am more excited for this team than any team they have assembled since the 05-06 season.

Yep isn't it great though when the Rangers run last year, was considered a fluke, but the Blue Jackets lose to Pittsburgh in the first round and they are ready to take that next step? Even better are the outlets saying Montreal is going to the finals this year and some have them winning it. Did I miss something; what did they do to make their team better from a year ago?

I'm telling you, the media just throws sh!t on a wall to see if it sticks.

AV's system naturally inflates our players corsi. Corsi is literally just shots for divided by shots against and in a fast paced system like ours that supports firing shots from anywhere on net our players corsis increase. Stralman and boyle were kings of firing useless shots from 40 feet away.

They also each blocked like 10 a game...make sense why Corsi was high
