so, in essence, this is your opinion. Correct?
- Elbows15

I second that opinion.

I'm talking about recently, like when Crow would have hit the market. You want a Cup-quality goalie for a short deal (four isn't short, btw, in my book)? I want a ten inch johnson, too, but some things aren't possible....
- mohel

But some of those things are.

So when other bloggers (wanna be GM 's...no offense JJ) lack faith in Crawford you take that as gospel, but the St. Louis front office (professional talent evaluators) display a lack of faith in Halak and that's incompetence?
- Ogilthorpe2

In Halaks situation? Absolutely. They pulled the cord on a goalie that they gave two games to in the playoffs before, especially a goalie that carried MTL to the ECF in 2010 past the presidents trophy winning Capitals team

Halak was never give a shot to take a cup caliber STL team to the finals, and that, is FACT

Bobrovsky won the vezina and signed a 2 year deal. I would consider him a cup quality goalie, no?

Because obviously the Vancouver fanbase and market is rabid. They, like a montreal, dont take well to seasons missing the playoffs

And this same goalie asked his coach, well , told his coach he would not play against his former team. Maybe that mindset is why the Blues' front office decided to trade for the hype of Ryan Miller

As I said earlier - you're entirely right. There's nobody who thinks Crow is worth the contract. Stan overpaid. Instead he should have.....I need help finishing this one.....done something else, but we're not sure what that is, but something for sure......because we're still pissed about the OT goals against PHX.

Halak wasn't consistent enough and never as good as he was with Montreal in the playoffs.....Also often hurt.

this is where you have gone far off point. the original knock was that Stan overpaid, by a good amount for Crawfords contract given his body of work and market comparables

Cup quality maybe, cup winner...not yet. Like it or not, (clearly you do not) Stanley Cup Winner on a goalie's resume = more $. Bob might wilt under the bright lights of a Stanley Cup Final, you don't know, and neither do I. C2 , if nothing else, has proven to be mentally tough. That matters when the calendar flips to May and June.

The point is that this is all your opinion about Crawford. Which it is. That is what he is trying to say.

Just trying to end the discussion by going way over the top. I'm guessing we've each made our point and had some fun doing it. And I'm sure minds won't be changing....

I don't know, this has been a pretty good topic of discussion and makes me want to revisit the Crawford, Elite/Not Elite debate...
