I understand being positive about the playoffs but the predictions that they'll win the division are a bit ambitious. They need to really improve in some areas for that to happen.

I think people are really overstating Boston losing it. Chara may be slowing down, but he was a (frank)ing All-Star and Norris nominee last season, it isn't like he just became a scrub. Hamilton will be given more time and looks poised to begin asserting himself. Boychuk is a loss, but Seidenberg was out the entire year pretty much and is now back, he was their number two guy.

They look scary, especially if Eriksson is healthy.

People take playoff series results too far. Boston didn't make it to the conference finals? They're done. Columbus took Pitt to 6 games? They might win the metro. Sharks lost 4 in a row? Missing the playoffs.

Rask maintaining another .930? all those things could add up to bring Boston back to the pack and closer to 100 points than 120.
