This one's interesting...

That's funny because the whole basis of the formula is a bunch of people figuring out who should win what games which indeed is a formula of equations and a simple hypothesis.

It's basically Vegas without money

So why don't we send Ristolainen to Rochester, and keep Zadarov for 9 games then?

It's the blue line equivalent to Reinhart/Grigorenko

I have a feeling more people would disagree with that move

- sbroads24

The difference between Ristolainen and Zadorov is a lot greater than between Grigorenko and Reinhart.

When one of their best QBs in that time was Chad Pennington...yes, they're bad.

I imagine Buffalo would be in a horrendous comparison too if comparing like 95-present

- stashu

The Jets stat goes back to 1987...that's 176 games. That's BAD

The whole reason I'm not a fan of keeping Reinhart here even if it's only for 9 games is the simple fact that I really don't want people questioning the draft pick for 2 years like everyone and their mother did with Grigorenko.

Kid simply doesn't look ready.

At least if they do keep him up, play him with top 6 talent. Don't repeat every mistake they did with that lazy immature Russian

Crazy Stat of Day:
Peyton Manning since 1998: 503 TD passes
All Jets QBs since 1987: 499 TD passes

WOW

Peyton is good but are the Jets QB's that bad too??

Plus Peyton missed a full season...wow

- Stripes77

I'd have to see the rushing stats on Peyton teams versus the Jets to answer that question.

At the time he was immature that's for sure. Lazy? Eh maybe and he is in fact Russian.

Just saying but I get what you were trying for

Oh, I know. I noticed the crazy aspect of 1998 vs 1987. I did a double take at first read cuz I read them as being so close, til I saw the different decade. :D Awesome stat.

I didn't names like Nolan and Cooper would be in the bottom half, curious to see if it evolves into something bigger in the next 5 years (coaching metrics that is).

I feel like they may believe he's better off starting in that bottom six role and working his way up.

Wouldn't shock me if they started him on the 3rd line with Gionta and Foligno(1st two names that came to mind).

I just realized that Neuvirth and Enroth are both UFA's. Should be interesting to see how this looks towards the trade deadline. If Enroth stands on his head this season do you look to move him?
Also will Hackett, makarov or lieuwen be ready for next year or do we go shopping next july?
So many options at every position excited for these next few months

I like enroth more than neuvirth so far from what I've seen. I think he goes and enroth stays.

I agree but if he really succeeds this year he could possibly get decent money on the market

imo, this isn't about turns, goosie
- Michael Pachla

I agree, this isn't about turns in gym class. Grigorenko earned his chance to stay on the team when compared to Reinhart but Tim Murray no doubt had the final say in who stayed and who went down not Nolan in this instance.

FROM EKLUND:

the Montréal Canadiens are still looking to upgrade their defensive corp.

the San Jose Sharks, who were also in the running for Boychuck, are also trying to upgrade
on the blue line.

The Anaheim Ducks, who also looked at acquiring d-man from Boston, are looking into both a defenseman and a forward. While I have no idea how this would work CapSpace wise, as the season goes on look for talks between the Ducks and the Maple Leafs to increase as well. More than one source has told me that Dion Phaneuf is on the Anaheim Ducks radar.

The Washington Capitals are looking to add third or fourth line character players.

Do we have anything these teams might be looking for??

Wow, really? Not up for debate? Is that why there were a bunch of us all discussing it? I love how you think things are so black and white. They are not. I wish life was that easy.

And I paid plenty of attention. What exactly was wrong with Reinhart's game that you feel he doesn't even look the part? Is he a bit timid out there at the moment, perhaps. But he was getting PK time, PP time, and didn't give up any huge chances to the other teams in the games I watched.

I'm sure that's going to garner a "Get your eyes checked" response from you, but I wouldn't expect anything less at this point.

- HonkFortheGoose

I'll let everyone else be the judge of this. If you watched the games and you still think that it is debatable then I have a problem with your judgement.

Whats funnier is every piece of hockey media predicting the upcoming season has the Sabres pegged as dead last. Its unanimous and the only thing the pundits and statisticians seem to agree on.

I'm trying to turn this situation into a "half-full cup," and the best I can come up with is this:

At least we will now be able to get candid, objective and invaluable reviews of Grigorenko's play from our favorite scout in Rochester: Mr. Squirrell.

Maybe my judgment isn't what needs to be questioned, but yours. I think you forget that all of this stuff is subjective. Everyone can feel differently about it. And last time I checked, my opinion is just that-my opinion. And since I live in the USA, I'm entitled to it. You feel differently about what you saw. That's your opinion. So I'm just going to agree to disagree with you.
