I don't want to trade Coburn; never have. But if the defense is struggling, I simply think that they won't run the same guys out there for 82 straight games.

My post said that I think Coburn would be the most vulnerable he's ever been, not that I want to trade him. He simply has the most value.

- AllInForFlyers

Ok but trading coburn doesn't necessarily net you a Shea weber either

So, a few predictions for the season:

1. Mark Streit hits 50 points

2. Brayden Schenn is consistent from start to finish, gets 28 goals and 63 points

3. Jakub Voracek gets 75 points and makes the All-Star team

4. Blair Jones won't score much, but he will work hard and we will appreciate that he wants to be in the NHL more than most

5. The only defenseman on the roster who is safe is Streit. I think, if Coburn/MacDonald struggle, that Coburn is more vulnerable to getting flipped this season than at any point in his Flyers career

- AllInForFlyers

I can agree with all of this minus Coburn. He and Streit are safe in my eyes. Who is going to assert themselves over Coburn in the next two seasons? Schenn? Unlikely. Morin? Highly unlikely.

Team I drafted last night. Not a keeper just some free yahoo jawn (rotisserie).

Claude Giroux (C, RW) <---not sure why there's still a RW there.
Nathan MacKinnon (C, RW)
Ryan O'Reilly (C, LW)
Valeri Nichuskin (RW)
Gustav Nyquist (C, RW)
Tomas Hertl (LW)
Tomas Tatar (LW) <---last pick was a little light on LW - will swap for D probably.
Brayden Schenn (C, LW) <---did not mean to draft, my inet died and auto'd him.
Jakub Voracek (RW)
James Wisniewski (D)
Alex Goligoski (D)
Roman Josi (D)
Dustin Byfuglien (D)
Mark Streit (D)
Steve Mason (G)
Braden Holtby (G)

I agree with # 1, # 3, # 4

I think B. Schenn is going to struggle with his consistency. Even though he is playing with supremely talented players in Giroux, and Voracek I think he's too streaky. I believe he will end up being replaced on the top line.

As far as the defenseman go, I think that MacDonald contract is damn near impossible to move.

- PLindbergh31

I'm a little concerned about BSchenn and think he's up to the task of playing with those guys.....but yeah, that scenario could totally play out.

I'm worried about the forward depth, in general, on this team. Not necessarily at center, but they seem thin at wing.

Yeah you've got some players for sure - your goaltending looks really solid. D's a bit on the thin side though.

Part of what makes playing fantasy hockey fun for me though is gambling and trying players that haven't made a name/impact/put up crazy numbers yet, hence my MacKinnon/Hertl/Nichuksin picks.

Nice man I see we think similarly. I literally just put in a waiver to drop B. Schenn and scoop Ekblad who was sat untouched.

I have a few utility spots where I can stash a player. That is why I picked up Ghost. I think he is going to be a big time player. So I will have him for his whole career.

I wouldn't call it a given but yeah the kid was flying and putting up great numbers before that. He was slept on at the draft for sure though. Still only 76% owned.

Just finished my draft. Picking 13th out of 14. I think my D might outscore my forwards. Karlsson and Buff alone had 500+ shots between the two last year.

I actually like the team tho. Took some big gambles late. Hopefully they pay off.

reason why i don't like taking dmen early is that if one get hurts you're screwed whereas you could have taken a safer pick with a forward

They have Voracek and Simmonds who both ranked in the top 20 in scoring among RW last year. They have Read and Schenn who are both capable point getters. Have to see how Umberger bounces back, and if Raffl can increase his offensive production. In combination with the center scoring, I don't see how they're thin.
