I don't think the Beatles suck. I just don't care for their music, and I prefer to listen to other bands and musicians.

So in your world, nothing can "suck" unless the entire planet agrees?

By the way, is anyone else confused as to why the Canes were upset with Gorges? It's Staal's fault he broke his leg.

Perfunctory.

We should just agree that anything put out past 1959 is just regurgitated junk. None of it is original and the rest is trash.

Damned right. If it's not Johnny Ray, Dennis Day or Bing Crosby it's garbage

Yeah, and if you like 8 CDs of songs that all sound alike, the Ramones are awesome.

Actually, they are awesome. I like them a lot. I also like pretty much every other band discussed in this thread.

- Jsaquella

The beauty of the Ramones is that each song is only about 1:30 long, so you get through it fast if you don't like it.

The Ramones proved that you can play music by stripping it down to 3 chords per song. And their lyrics had way more deep meaning that anything Zepplin ever wrote, as amazing as they lyrics to "When the Levee Breaks" are

I don't think there has to be deep meaning to the lyrics to make a great song.

Alright boys and girls, been a fun night. Actually really enjoyed it, needed this little chat to end the day. Everyone have a good night and pray for the Wayne Train.

I just like all sorts of music. Outside of Kenny G's version of "jazz" and EDM, it's all good with me.

Except poop like Nickelback or Creed. I don't care how many CDs they sell, they suck

Right...but the lyrics were a point of contention.

Okay, for real, I'm off. Toodles.

This is a good mindset, and one that I have too.

If someone likes music should like ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. A music lover should be able to latch on to something in anything. You, even though you don't "like" the Beatles, I bet, can listen to a song like In My Life and appreciate the harmony, or appreciate the meaning. If someone truly likes music, they should be doing that. I do it too. Classical music? "Wow, that's a beautiful string melody". Rap? "I like that beat, it's pretty cool". Jazz? "That's an awesome piano part."

Ya know what I mean?

That's why I think it's silly seeing people at parties or whatever "argue" about who they don't and do like. Who cares? There's a bagillion different kinds of music out there for a reason. We all have different tastes.

No, in my world I'm not going to say that a world class band of musicians and songwriters. Who had an undeniable role in music history, as well as an incredible amount of influence on countless musicians, such as the Beatles sucks just because I don't care for their music.

True

If you had bet me in 1979. that Keith Richards and Ozzy Osbourne would both still be alive 35 years later, I'd of taken that action in a second!

Well, since Elvis died in 1977, it'd be a sucker bet in 1979 to lay odds on him outliving anyone

I think anyone would be insane not to recognize the genius behind the creativity of the Beatles. You might as well state that time is going to stop. It's just a fact whether I like their music or not.

50% of Zeppelin is amazing
25% of Zeppelin is stereotypical "rock"
and 25% requires the use of P.E.D.'s to enjoy

not really, since nobody believed elvis was really dead in 1979. everyone thought he was hanging with jimmy, janis, and james in south america somewhere.

No, you respect the fact that some people will like the Rangers. I can't argue with them and change their position.

I can, however, hate the (frank)ing rangers

no, not at all. my post was in specific reference to the last paragraph about liking different bands and arguing. there's no logic. it's just taste.

but nobody should like the rangers. ever. or their (frank)ing fans.
