I just checked hockey reference. The Black Hawks had 9 forwards over 200lbs in 2010 when they won the cup and 9 in 2013 when they won the cup. In 2010, they also had Byfuglien who played defense but also some forward. He is 265 lbs. Gaborik is over 200 lbs. The Flyers have only 4 forwards over 200 lbs. Didn't the Bruins have the most fights or second most fights last year? They are consistently one of the best teams in the league. And, Detroit had 7 fights last year and since they have adopted this no arms policy, they've won nothing.

The difference is that he's not one of your bros. I don't think he's a bad guy or a bad player. I don't want the Flyers to trade him. I still think he's the best player on the team and a top ten forward in the league. And I still think this incident makes him look silly, at the very least. I've lost some respect for him. It has caused me to question his character and I don't think it's a stretch to think that it may effect how his teammates feel about him and lessen his effectiveness as a leader. I know that I would bust his stones over this if I were his teammate.

The very fact that you would bust his stones if you were his teammate, shows how really unimportant the incident was. Because think about it. If it was a serious incident, where he seriously messed up, you wouldn't do that. That it can be made fun of, points to how minor it was.

I know most guys in their mid-20's would NEVER do anything foolish as they're all fully mature by that point. When I was 26, I was completely mature and never did anything resembling foolish, always thinking 17 steps ahead.
