With Boychuk being A UFA after the season, is it a smart move for the Isles to give up 2 draft picks with the possibility of a 3rd? If they don't sign him, I guess it would depend on whatever they could get for him at the deadline. But he'll help them in the meantime for sure.

Isles better make the playoffs after all the picks/prospects they've dealt away. They gave up significant assets for Boychuk and Leddy, and already lack a 1st rounder for what looks to be a pretty strong 2015 draft.

If you go back to 1997 and said, two guys on this Flyers team will be NHL GMs in 17 years, would anyone have guessed Hextall & Snow? I'd have said Ducky & Otto, or maybe Brind'Amour.

I agree about the Isles. If those guys don't really work out in front of their suspect goaltending...it could set them back a bit.

No more then any other team. I like the team the Flyers have. And I think they're going to have a solid season, and make the playoffs.

Halak's one of those all or nothing guys I feel like. He had stretches where he was great with STL, but he was splitting time with Elliot when those 2 were both incredible that year.

If I'm an Isles fan, I'm at least a little nervous about Halak.

At the NHL level, I'd say it's pretty darned close. Organizationally, they beat the Flyers by a country mile.


(Pokka's a pretty darned good prospect... they might regret that one in a few years)
