guess hextall/berube felt rosemont was no longer perfectly fine as the 13th forward, that he is capable, and served a purpose. maybe they've been reading the board.

Laughton for leddy. That stiff can't even supplant Rinaldo on the 4th line. His career is over before it started

I know you are being sarcastic but that's the type of deal that i bet the Hawks are looking for.

Would you value Leddy, a 23 year old defenseman with good puck moving skills and 4 years of NHL experience, over Laughton?

Boston waives Caron, might be good news for Simon Gagne

Hextall would only say there's a chance he'll play... and a chance he won't. No one else in the organization is allowed to discuss injuries and even OTR stuff has been a little scarce in camp.

Hexy is insistent that there only be two voices on all team matters in terms of who can be available to be quoted: himself or Berube. Assistant coaches, scouts, etc. are no longer allowed to agree to interviews without prior approval from the GM.

Hexy says that this was Lombardi's policy in LA, and it worked in Ron's opinion.

Not a big difference from Homer. Laviolette & Stevens rarely gave injury news

If the Flyers stop paying their blue line the gross national product of a 3rd world country, it should be easier to keep some of the forwards. Hopefully the promising youngsters develop.

Individually, our defense may not be way overpaid. As a group they definately are. I also feel that Grossmann, with his past lower body injuries, is going to fall off a cliff talentwise this year or next year. I hope they get one more year out of him.

....I was talking about the Hawks, but sure

But has anyone seen simmer? Lower body usually get diagnosed by the media if the player has a walking boat, points at His groin on the bench, and etc. I watched the NYR and don't member him getting injured or missing time

If I were a betting man, I'd wager on Teuvo Teravainen starting in AHL and rookie D Trevor van Riemsdyk being in CHI opening night lineup.

going to cape cod is not gonna get anything done. i figure they would of learned that from last year being out of shape and starting the season 1-7. With that said what they should be doing is practicing hard with all the new line combos and defensive pairings sort of like a mini boot camp. but whatever what do i know! Lets go to Cape Cod to find Our inner selves and bond! The final roster has absolutely no on ice time training as one unit. Wake up and smell the coffee Flyers!

I am glad that he's getting another shot if healthy but I really don't like that it's with another team than the Flyers. He'll alway be a flyer to me..

No, the last thing this club needs to do is trade a forward prospect. Now Hagg +?

The real question I have is where would Leddy play in our rotation and who do we trade to fit him in?

Coburn/Grossman
AMAC/Leddy
Schenn/MDZ

And Streit traded? Makes no sense to me. I can't figure out how it makes sense, can you?

From the organization's perspective, it's a good idea. Less noise, the better.

From a fan's standpoint, it's a bit less grist for the mill. We'll get over it, I think.

don't worry, all the (frank)ing hack jobs out there will still find sound bytes and make bullpoop out of absolutely nothing because they need hits on their poopty blogs and newspaper sites.

If he were RH, yes. They don't exactly need another slightly built LH finesse D w/ AMac + Streit locked up long-term, MDZ under contract, and Ghost on the horizon.

And they also really can't afford to trade either of Laughton or Leier... there's virtually zero near-term F depth behind them.

Old buddy Michael Leighton on waivers too. I'd consider Caron if the Flyers didn't have Bellemare, Jones and Akeson

didn't know they had such a thing but:

The media also selected Bowling Green freshman defenseman Mark Friedman as the WCHA's preseason rookie of the year.
