I came across an interview with Nolan the other day. He said that there's something different about Enroth this year. He said you can see it in his eyes how bad he wants that #1 spot. Based on his play so far, I'd have to agree.

Have you been listening tonight? THey played a bit of an interview with him where he said he went back to Sweden to train with one of the best goalie coaches in the country. Funny part was he said how the guy had never played hockey but has become one of the top goalie coaches.

I haven't been listening. Have it on my PC and am keeping an eye on it, but I'm watching other stuff on TV at home.

Not sure how you could do that. I think it is a DNA thing that allows you to be able multi task.

I always thought enroth was a fighter. I think he wants to overcome his shortcomings and prove everyone wrong. I hope he can do it. But I always thought neuvirth would win this one out

Not that our overall effort has been good but Neuvirth has been just awful. I liked Enroth as my starter in the first place but if this continues, with out goalie prospects Neivirth will be outta he by dec 1st.

I think it's Enroth's spot for now. But it is possible that he loses it at some point this year. I thought Neuvirth was the biggest X factor for this team this year. I could be completely wrong though, because that's looking more and more like it could be Grigorenko.

Neuvirth is looking good when things are in tight. I've seen some nice saves by him when they're in his face. But yeah, overall he's been bad.

Wow, McCabe looking good with his delays (as Ray pointed out).

I am surprised. Neuvirth has to know that this could be his last chance. I am surprised by his lack of drive

I think McCabe is ready for NHL duty, but I think he's going to end up in Rochester as a victim of numbers. I don't think it'll hurt him any, but I like what I've seen from him in preseason.

Maybe that's the problem. It's not a lack of drive, it's that he's being crippled by the amount of pressure he's put on himself. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened to someone.

Grigs overall play had shocked me in the games I have been able to watch. I really like what I see on him.

If that's the case. Honestly I think he shouldn't let the door hit him on the arse as he walks out the door. I want a goalie with thicker skin and a shorter memory.

I like Enroth. I've been hoping that he would win the #1 job. I love the way he plays. He's got a very unique style.

I hate to use the comparison because it isn't fair. But his style is hasek like. You just don't get how he makes the save.

his two goals were almost identical, that mini drag and shoot seems to be his thing. I agree he's NHL ready but like goose said, he'll probably the victim of a numbers game. That being said, I think he'll definitely be a permanent member by christmas

See, I disagree there. Everything Enroth does is very, very calculated. Hasek was the complete opposite. I noticed it when I saw him play for Portland years ago. We got seats right in the corner. At first I thought it was normal and that I'd just never noticed goalies do that because I'd never sat that close and paid that much attention.

Then I noticed that you can see it on TV too. It's just how he plays. There's not even the slightest bit of extra movement that's not intentional. Every movement is sharp and crisp. And it fascinates me.

I thought he looked pretty good last year. And that's playing on one of the worst teams ever. That's saying something. Maybe he's just in a funk at the moment. Advantage Enroth.

See, I found Hasek to be very calculating:

"I'm going to throw every available body part at the puck, and chances are at least one of them is going to get a hold of it."

Never seen him live and maybe that is the differnce. But this season will allow me to watch enroth more closely. Also I was in high school when hasek was in his prime and that made him an idol of goaltending (especially since I was a goalie).

I will have to watch thanks for your insight.

Here's an interesting article about Enroth from almost 3 years ago now. But it gives a bit of insight into how he plays the game.

Well. Hasek is an original. He can not be duplicated. From the double stack flop saves to throwing his blocker at the capitals in the playoffs
