If you had watched the game, you would have clearly seen MacDonald was a victim of poor luck. What's it like to live life as a fool?
- mcefalu

I did watch the game, actually. We can have different opinions, it's ok.

Do you have to be so curt and aggressive?

This... AMac drifted over, maybe he thought Coburn was going to chase OV behind the net or something? I have no idea. Either way, that's not how you defend a 6V5 down low.
- Tomahawk

I think the problem arises when Backstrom has the puck behind the net. I think one of the forwards should have covered Fehr in the high slot and Amac and Coburn should have had the forwards closest to the net.

I don't know though. I never played hockey at a high enough level to know exact assignments on the play. From playing other sports, I can tell that communication and cohesion was very poor on that play though.

So Hextall stated a prospect would have to push a veteran out to get a spot. I understand the whole better for development but I have to say I think two prospects did exactly what was asked. I worry that Morin might stagnate a little this year. His comments alone state that he gets away with more in juniors because of his stregnth and size. I hope this isn't the case but I also think both did exactly what was asked and don't seem to be rewarded for it.

If he can't continue to prepare for the NHL while in Juniors, then it's on him. He needs to keep working, even with the lesser competition. If he cuts corners because he knows he can, he has bigger problems.

That's not the point.

The point is that I am right.

Everything is always AMac's fault. I have a feeling this is going to be the trend this year in here.

I'm not going to say who's right or wrong but I think that was a really clever way to make your point.

Actually I agree that Amac didnt do anything particularly wrong. BUT. You are still talking to yourself. How does that prove a point?

so then you give him AHL time as soon as his Q season is over and even part of next year.

Morin sent back down to junior - sigh of relief. Although i would have liked to see him stick around for the 9 games.

Ron Hextall already did the right thing once today in sending Morin back to Rimouski.

I'll be downright stunned (and pleased) if he keeps Rosehill off the opening night roster.

Also, if Rosehill is getting sent down, the Phantoms are going to have multiple knuckledraggers to throw hands on a nightly basis.

He failed to assess that an extra skater had jumped on the ice and it was no longer a 5V5 situation. Read released F4 cutting to the to him and he just blindly stuck w/ Fehr.

He put Coburn in a really tough spot there.

- Tomahawk

Before he drifted away, now he blindly stuck with Fehr. I guess you're right, He should've left Fehr, who actually scored the goal and was in the dead slot. But I guess it's his fault because he couldn't cover everybody on the play. Let alone let's ignore that Couturier was covering who exactly on the play? Scapegoat is in full effect.

Let's play that game:

If the flyers made all the right decisions all the time why do they not have a Stanley Cup in nearly 40 years?

- moylander

Okay let's play that game. Since the Flyers haven't won the Stanley Cup in 40 years. That means that Lauridsen can replace Grossmann. Solid logic.

I'm happy Hextall stuck to his word on developing the young guys.

I think his point is that the Flyers aren't always right.

That being said, Lauridson is not an NHL player, imo

His point has zero to do with what defenseman is NHL ready, or who can replace who. And that the Flyers have not won a Stanely Cup in 40 years is irrelevant to that. Which is the obvious point I made. And I'm aware of the poor point he was trying to make.
