Let me post the rest of it for you QP.

Sources further report Barroway, a Philadelphia-based hedge fund manager, is buying 51 percent based on a recent $305 million valuation of the franchise, which was purchased by RSE for a reported $170 million. The NHL had paid $140 million to get the team out of bankruptcy.

So you buy a franchise for 170m and you lose 24m and now it's worth 305m. something doesn't add up or it does...

Also, I was at the opener last year and met Anthony Leblanc, pretty smart business fella I'd say.

Losing $24M in operating costs doesn't necessarily devalue the franchise, although I can see how pricing it at $305M is a bit out of left field.

you can't see poop as you have zero access to their books, lease agreement or any other type of agreement they are involved in.

I don't need access to any of that to believe that $305M is a bit much for a team that was recently bankrupt.

Montreal Canadiens: Speaking of 30-goal men, with some of the vets in front of him moving on, giving him an increased role on the power play, Alex Galchenyuk blazes past that mark in March on his way to becoming the Habs’ top goal scorer.

My point is that it's not very hard to get your company to show a loss on the books.

I'd bet these so called 'losses' off set profits of other companies in the umbrella.

End result, less taxes paid.

Yes but we are talking about a team whose most profitable season was the 2004-05 season.

Watch for Josh Morrissey coming up too.
Morrissey-Trouba could become the next Suter-Weber. Cook it.

Morrisey isn't ready yet. Hasn't had a great camp.

Back to junior would be my guess.

Not sure what your point is nutters.

All I'm saying is, the team was purchased for 170m, lost 24m, and is now worth 305m.

Someone must know something we don't, or the books are cooked.

Here's hoping he makes something happen. Kind of doubt it though based on how the whole team has been doing.

Still, last time the Riders had a Heisman candidate from Texas Tech we cut him and he won a superbowl the next year.
