He's not a star, just a good hockey player.

He only had 7.15 million worthy seasons playing with a bunch of stars on the loaded '10 and '11 Ducks teams, where he went 35, 29 and 34, 37. Other than that, he's been a 60 point player. He should be the 3rd option in a team's offense, 2nd at best, not their #1. He's being paid like a #1.

But Ottawa has to keep some sort of established goal scorer, so they overpay.

No he's always been a 60 point guy. He hit 71 once, he'll be lucky to break that again.

This is what good players go for these days. Stastny has similar production and just got 7 per year this past summer. I think its a little expensive but worth it for Ottawa.
