I'm sure they are. If Lee or Strome have been lazy and doing very little than fine send them down. It just has to be tough on guys like Lee and Strome when you have such mishmash lineups during training camp to really impress. - ses111
its equally hard to impress for everyone with jumbled lineups, not just strome and lee. lets take off the training wheels. |

The Isles not inviting him to camp in 2013 was a ridiculous move given the season Nino was having in the AHL at the time. - Snowblind
If there were ever a beating a dead horse debate(btw I agree with you) |

That's fair. Even with the small sample size last year, hard for me to picture Strome and Lee not making this team. Let's see what happens. |

His guarantee was that Clutterbuck gets more points than Nino.
I said I would not take that bet. So no. Not even close. |

I disagree....you watch a healthy Clutterbuck does this year. He got that nasty cut last year and never recouped Was the best player on the team last night. We have strome ,Hu-sung, Da-colle, maybe Anders lee, Brock nelson type nino player in our system . I guaranty you clutterbuck gets more points than Nino this year. I think he got an excellent return for a trade that was forced by a whinny player. Like i said if Vanek signs that trade would have been awesome. The deadline trade was for a rental player....what did you expect to get for Vanek. Look how that turned out for Montreal. Montreal gave up a Colberg(first rounder) and second pick for Vanek and he played like crap for them. - dack1972
I said it the day of the trade. I love Clutterbuck and I've always wanted him but it was a bad trade. Nothing you say is going to change that. The return on Vanek was brutal a prospect taken in the 2nd rd and a 2nd rd pick terrible especially when that prospect wans't even in Montreal's top 5 prospects. I've seen a lot more traded at past deadlines for lesser players then Vanek. |

they told him point blank he wasn't coming... even before the lockout ended. Why this was a big surprise to him or a snub ill never understand.
Had he shut his mouth and just played in Bridgeport, he would have been called up before the season ended & been part of the playoff run.

It was a pissing match pretty much from the minute we drafted him. There were no winners from our perspective and as nice a player Clutterbuck can be (I think that laceration was a bigger deal than he let on) he's no Nino. Not even close. |

I said I will take that bet... he's betting Clutter gets more points, Ill take that bet.. because there is NO WAY in 2 seasons Clutter gets as many points as Nino gets this season.

I don't care if Skille & McDonald let the team in scoring during the preseason they are career minor leaguers with a limited ceiling. - Vukota
I'm not talking about Cmac. My point is Lee can out perform skille who's fault is that? |

It should be opposite. The Skille's & McDonalds of the world should be called up a month into the season if the kids struggle. It shouldn't be Lee & Strome getting the call if McDonald & Skille or Conacher struggle IMO - Vukota
I want the 23 players playing their best hockey on opening. I don't care who they are what their names are or where they were drafted |

I agree but don't judge the kids on a two week span. Give them a month and if they struggle then think about making changes.. You know what you got with the Skille's of the world no matter how good they were in camp. |

1)Very simple, top eight forwards in salary are JT, Grabo, Kulimen, Bailey, Grabner, KO, Clutterbuck, Nielsen. Nelson is the budding star, so those are the top nine. For the next four we can debate whether vets should fill the roles and future scorers like Strome and Lee go to BRI for ice time and top line offensive minutes etc.
2)As far as defense, biggest hole is nobody has filled the leadership role lost when Streit left. Hamonic is the obvious key and I expect De Haan to be the other key as well. As far as Strait, Donavan, Carkner etc. It is up to mgt who is ready to play amongst the rookies and if they can afford to cut loose healthy vets when this team has had injury problems in the past. They can debate Hickey all they want but he is an improving player and a leader on this team as well. |

I agree to an extent. Its hard to get a real barometer in a few weeks though. These kids to me are clearly ready from what I saw last year and a bit this yr. Cmac isnt brining much more than what we've seen. You have to give these kids time and experience. Colin mcdonald shouldn't be pushing lee or strome out of the line up unless they completely crap the bed which they havent from what ive seen. The time for players like him and skille on this team should be done. We finally have the depth from seven yrs of sucking and drafting. Its time to turn the page. Let the buffalo's of the NHL have at them. |

I agree. Lee especially is one I want up as we're not a particularly big team up front. Still a week to go. Still time for a trade to make some room. I won't put money on a trade though.
