you say I have bailey blinders or some of you just hate on him too much. I agree, his job should not be safe. there are a lot of people making a strong case for this team. If you going to blame Bailey on one or two bad plays. Was it bailey that Got walked around like a pylon last night. No that was KO. it happens.

1) Clutterbuck was the best guy on ice yesterday
2) I just became a Kumelin fan, This guy can fly.
3) Conacher is making this team. He is something we have needed in a while. A Pest that can score.
4) Reinhart was only Isle Dman not getting push around last night by Boston. Kid is steady as it gets.
5) Brennan will be our 7th dman. Maybe he still work in progress but this guy is great PP point man.
6) Poulin and Donovan are toast. No chance they make team

Best Camps so far Nelson, Clutterbuck, Conacher, Pollack and Reinhart in my opinion. Love what I saw from Chad Johnson too.

- Spartiarti

Poulin never had a shot to begin with. With that said he had a pretty good game last night. Might provide us with a little depth at goalie which we should all know is nice to have. Donovan is gone right you are.

Brennan should be in front of Hickey, Czuzcman, Carkner, from what little I've seen if camp and preseason is actually being used as a barometer to give jobs to these players IMO. Hickey and Czuzcman to me have been terrible from what I've seen. Hickey looks completely out matched it seems like teams have been focusing on him and punishing the kid which leads to him getting out muscled and coughing up the puck. Just my observation thus far.

Brennan and great should never be used in the same sentence and for Christ Sakes its Pulock and not Pollack

Brennan is exactly what you want in 7th dman. guy must of had like 7 shots on next last night.
Our defense usually take 7 shots in total. Haha on Pulock. My bad.

Do you agree with all the other assessment (ex bailey of course)

During the Senators game the announcers for the sens were saying Hickey was the best D-man out there for either side Brennan couldn't crack the lineup of the Sabres, Panthers or Leafs not exactly loaded D's.. There is a reason for that and that's because he is not very good on D. Yeah he might be ok on the PP but you can't just play him for the PP and then sit him the rest of the game. Hickey gets killed for his lack of size but he makes up for it with his positioning, smarts and skating ability. Outside of running the PP Hickey over Brennan in every other category IMO.

From what I have seen... Brennan needs to run this pp.. Hide him on the bottom pairing. So I guess right now

Hamonic CDH
Vis hickey
Brennan Reinhart

Carkner

- Dan Petriw

That is a D that shall be man handled.

I have no problem with Brennan as a 7th. Yeah everything else I would pretty much agree with for the most part

and why should Poulin had a chance? As far as good game. sure he did ok. but still 3GAA doesn't win you many games. Also how many time does he make a save and he has no idea whether he has the puck or not? No thanks. you look at best goalies in league and they don't flip flop on ground the whole time. Like DP use to, Poulin makes a save that a guy like Carey Price makes easily standing square at shooter look like a ESPN play of the year. For every highlight save, he lets in 20 goals.

I have zero sympathy of Poulin. Snow gave him Last year to be this teams #1 goalie and he choked. I believe there as only 2 games at most that he concede 3 goals or less last year.

there isn't even a debate in Hickey over anyone. I think Hickey is a lock at isles dman and should be. I agree vukota. He may be undersize but he as well around as the come on this roster.

The Tough Decesions are Pulock, Reinhart and Brennan on Defense. Donovan, Czuczman are not making it. Also has Carkner even play in preseason. Looks to me as decision has been made on him not being on this team already.

I can care less what the sens announcers think . Thats like saying Goring said it so it has to be true. Just going on my three games that I've seen hickey has been one of the worst if not worst d man on the ice next to donovan. As far as me killing him for his size im not but opposing players are and taking the puck soon afterward

and Brennan?
- brodydog29

Brennan has the offensive potential to score 40+ pts a season if he plays PP1.

Otherwise, he really needs to work on his skating (accelerating and speed specifically) and his defense.

Eh, we'll disagree on this one. Let's stick to the real possibility that McDonald will be on the opening night roster

It could be worse. If we are healthy we have 3 top 4 defensemen in Hamonic, de Haan, and Viz. Otherwise, we have a bunch of question marks with Reinhart, Brennan etc

With the fwd depth we have Mcdonald is extremely expendable. Off to bdgpt with him as far as I'm concerned. As far as defense goes what pairings would you like to see?

I'm certainly not sold on him but he's looked pretty good albeit a small sample size.
- Cptmjl

No doubt Garth will anoint him, like he did Strait, "A Top 4 defenseman."
Then it's official.

Staples projected lines for opening night:
Nelson-Tavares-Okposo
Conacher-Grabovski-Kulemin
Bailey-Nielsen-McDonald
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
(extras: Skille, Boulton; IR: Grabner)
Defense
Brennan-Hamonic
Hickey-Visnovsky
Strait-Pulock
(extra: Czuczman; IR: de Haan, Carkner)
Goaltender
Halak
Johnson

1. Why the (frank) is our coaching staff so keen on Martin, Cmac, and Strait. Lee, Strome and Reinhart are easily better than those three right now.
2. I really hope de Haan comes back from injury soon..... We are in trouble if he won't be.

My lines would be

Nelson-JT-KO
Grabbo-Strome-Kule
Lee-Nielsen-Bailey/Grabner
Conacher-Cizikas-Clutts

I liked(past tense) Mcdonald. He was good the lock out season. Last year and so far in preseason he is next to worthless IMO. More of a liability and if Strome gets demoted due to Mcdonald it's complete utter mismanagement of players... Once again...
- Cptmjl

The entire team other than Frans, Jt Ko was horrible last year. Honestly I would rather have Mcdonald than Martin especially after last night. That Bobbie guy and Marchand were running everyone last night...to me MArtin should have sent a message to those guys...if he can't do that than there's no use for him because that's what makes him an effective player. There's no way JT should have to wrestle or get into physical altercations....I was cringing when I saw that. I can understand JT standing up for himself or his teammates. This team is done if he gets hurt.

I agree regarding Brennan....he gets that puck to the net 9 shots in the last 2 games. He has the confidence. I like him..he won best defensive player in the AHL (I think) and led the league in points. I think he deserves a shot.
