From what I have seen... Brennan needs to run this pp.. Hide him on the bottom pairing. So I guess right now
Hamonic CDH
Vis hickey
Brennan Reinhart
Carkner - Dan Petriw
I have a tough time putting my faith in a career AHL'er to run the PP. Far from sold on Brennan. |

1. If the Isles, in this pivotal season, fail to put their best foot forward and ice the best lineup they possibly can right out of the gate in deference to Josh Bailey and/or to protect against losing players like Matt Donovan or Colin McDonald to waivers, then Garth really is as dumb as they say.
2. I am not so sure Donovan fails to clear waivers anyway. The Avs just snuck Stefan Elliott through waivers and he was a far more highly regarded prospect not too long ago than Donovan's ever been.
On the other hand McDonald probably would be claimed, but he'd essentially just be following his job as the 12th-13th forward on one of the more depth-challenged NHL teams. That position has moved elsewhere to Carolina, Buffalo or Calgary. |

I'm only king off from what I have seen but his decisiveness leads me to giving him a shot. Looked a lot better than the likes of what we have or what we have had the past few years |

The Bruins were blacked out last Friday night throughout New England when they were playing the Caps on NHL Network. NESN was broadcasting a meaningless Sox/Yankees game that Jeter wasn't even playing in.
I think the same thing happened to Buffalo earlier in the week.
NHL broadcasting stupidity appears to be universal. - clutchgetspaid
The difference is MSG had the Rangers on two different channels on the same network instead of having the Isles on one. It had nothing to do with the NHL it was all MSG which is Dolan owned who also owns the Rangers. |

I'm certainly not sold on him but he's looked pretty good albeit a small sample size. |

Some people don't want to hear this but the truth is the Islanders telecast will cost them more then its worth to broadcast it. If Dolan could make money off an Islander preseason game he would air it. It's all about money and from a business stand point to them its not worth it right or wrong that's the case. It has nothing to do with not showing the isles because their one of the Rangers rivals. |

So it's more cost effective to play the same game on two channels instead of a different game on another channel? Meh, doesn't sound right. Our ratings have been better than the Devils for years and they still get air time. Much more than we do. Also how many advertisers would want to pay for commercial time on a channel that has the same game broadcasting on the channel next to it? Makes zero sense to me. |

Actually it is. They do that because even though its on two channels they actually are just paying for one telecast and simulcasting it on the second channel as opposed to paying for two separate telecast. Like I said its BS but that is the reason. Not enough Islander viewers for a preseason game to lure advertisers to pay for spots so why air the game if its gonna cost them to air it? |

If that's the line up it wouldn't surprise me. Snow wanted another year of Capuano. Be careful what you ask for. - Cptmjl
I don't get the love affair with McDonald? He scored a garbage goal the other night off a gift from the goalie that anybody else on the team could have put in as well. He is terrible in his own end as well. He could easily be replaced. I just don't get it |

I edited. I have a hard time understanding that when our ratings have always been higher than the devils which is what inspires advertising yet they get more air time? If that were the Devils that game would have been on. Doesn't make sense. |

I liked(past tense) Mcdonald. He was good the lock out season. Last year and so far in preseason he is next to worthless IMO. More of a liability and if Strome gets demoted due to Mcdonald it's complete utter mismanagement of players... Once again... |

you say I have bailey blinders or some of you just hate on him too much. I agree, his job should not be safe. there are a lot of people making a strong case for this team. If you going to blame Bailey on one or two bad plays. Was it bailey that Got walked around like a pylon last night. No that was KO. it happens.
1) Clutterbuck was the best guy on ice yesterday
2) I just became a Kumelin fan, This guy can fly.
3) Conacher is making this team. He is something we have needed in a while. A Pest that can score.
4) Reinhart was only Isle Dman not getting push around last night by Boston. Kid is steady as it gets.
5) Brennan will be our 7th dman. Maybe he still work in progress but this guy is great PP point man.
6) Poulin and Donovan are toast. No chance they make team
Best Camps so far Nelson, Clutterbuck, Conacher, Pollack and Reinhart in my opinion. Love what I saw from Chad Johnson too. |

The Devils like the Islanders maybe get 1 preseason game televised a year if that if they are not playing the Rangers. They aired a Devils/Flyers preseason game last week but it was the Flyers comcast broadcast. They just simulcasted it on MSG Plus. I guess they could have did that with the Isles last night but didn't. The Isles def get the short end of the stick but they don't help themselves either |
