I agree 100% with this post. I said early that it was possible that the all-male crew would create a reason for the Flyers to bring the ice girls back. It seems all too logical to just dress everyone in the orange tracksuits. What is so wrong with equality anyway?
- NickTheKid87

Yeah, just keep the same crew and put them all in the track suits.

It seems like non-STHs who bought $5 tix on stub hub were looking for a reason to boo.

I'm not convinced the way the Flyers handled it (replacing the half dressed ice girls with an all-guy team of ice cleaners) wasn't intended to get exactly this response so they could come back with the T&A show. Let's just hope the women are paid for all of their time and maybe have a few more feet of fabric in their clothing.

If they really had intended to resolve the issues as presented they'd have established a team of ice cleaners comprising both men and women wearing atmosphere appropriate athletic clothing.

Totally agreed.

That Mother Jones article was embarrassing. I was embarrassed that the Flyers organization treated them so poorly.

anyone think laughton is a lock?

guys i was at the game last night and its nice to see the players actions away from the puck...with that said mdz and schultz need to be cut loose, and i have to say morin and ghost deserve to be on this team now, ghost is better then anyone we have and morin will be by the end of the year if he sticks.

i dont think akeson should stick, jones has played better

Unless he hits the "rookie wall" and is gassed by March 15. I think it may not be worth the risk keeping him, as I lean more towards sending Morin back to juniors and not risk harming his development.

That's pretty fast. I wouldn't rush Ghost and Morin. Give them some time in the AHL. No need to do anything premature.

There's no practical reason for the ice girls to be dressed, treated and objectified as they have been. I understand a lot of male fans like them but I doubt any of them would stop coming to the games if the ice girls didn't have those outfits on. It seems to me that most female fans dislike them also, so I don't see any strong or pragmatic argument for the ice girls to remain as is.

i never thought laughton is a lock he has skill but needs time to refine it to be useful in the nhl on a consistent basis
ahl is a good starting place for that

The surprise seems to be Morin, who is still up, despite Berube saying he will ice the starting lineup on Thursday.

Maybe he'll be getting a few games in...

I'm not saying I disagree with sending either of these guy to the Phantoms to start the season.

However, if hockey is about winning and entertainment it's hard to justify on the surface of it. Is Jones or Bellemare going to win you more hockey games than Laughton. I don't know you can say that. Who would you rather watch play, a young guy with the potential to grow or a borderline NHLer?

And c'mon, for your viewing pleasure every game: Ghostisbehere or Grossman/Schenn/MacDonald/Schultz hell even Del Zotto.

Yes, I do get it but I can't say I'm not disappointed although it's absolutely no surprise at all.
