Unpossible. Streit's overpaid and sucks defensively. Grossmann is overpaid and sucks.

At least you gave Streit offense

from what i understand they removed the ice girls due to concerns of backlash from that mother jones article

for you to jump to the assumption that they were removed due to complaining women is actually pretty sexist, well done

- -davies-

This was in the case that there were complaints of this nature, stemming from the Sharks ice girls, the article, etc. I don't know why they removed them. Anyway, if you look at some of the replies to the Flyers' tweet you'll find a lot of women that are upset about this. I know some personally.

Streit and Grossmann are the only starting defenseman who have played, at least, average in the preseason

They would need to finish with the first or second worst record in the league to get Eichel. Unless G goes down, I don't see that happening.

Here's the bigger and more controversial question. If the Flyers have a mediocre season and either miss the playoffs or get blown out in the first round, would you trade G straight up for the #1 pick?

He's also been better than Schenn by a wide margin. Both halves of the MDZ-Schenn pairing have had mediocre preseasons.
- bmeltzer

At least MDZ has the excuse of being new to the organization.

I don't know what to make of Luke Schenn and I don't think Craig Berube does either.

Word on the street is that Luke Schenn is, indeed, a person, complete with 2 functional eyes and 2 arms. Awaiting word pertaining to a torso and/or legs.

Hmm, I thought LSchenn looked pretty good last night at ES and on the PK. Got the second most SH time after Coburn.

Schenn wasn't the guy who made a weak play with the puck in the corner which led to the Rangers' second goal. That was Grossmann.

Could Morin really stick this year. I still think he gets sent down but I can see how he fits and maybe keeping him on his ELC and moving maybe Schenn could work. Just spit balling as I still see him sent down but am starting to come around to maybe keeping him.

Even if they gave him the 9 games, he'd probably have to blow them away for him to stay. They seem to be committed to patience. Stranger things have happened though.

One play out of 21 shifts does not a good or bad game make, any more than the rare goal he scored. He had a real solid game last night and has been decent overall in the preseason.

No. We already know this is a flawed team. It likely won't be his fault when things go south.

If your expectations are anything more than making the playoffs, I suggest you lower them.

And I'm not sure which plays you are basing your claim that LSchenn has had a medicore preseason on. He's got one game with a pretty full lineup so far this preseason (last night) and I didn't see him make a mistake all night. Unlike Grossmann, who gets to play with Streit, not MDZ.

I'm guessing he struggled a lot in the game in NJ that wasn't on TV, but that's to be expected when you run MDZ-LSchenn out as your #1 pair against a full Devils team.
