I prefer last year's bozak over anything Berglund has done. Ballsack won me over. |

We have the scrimmage things, too, but they use children from the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, and they're always far too small to do the cleaning job. It might be worthwhile for them to consider limiting the mites to one intermission, and using the other intermission for older children who are capable of serving in that role, if they want to avoid the controversy entirely. It's a hell of a lot harder to boo 10-year-olds for this than grown men (though, this being Philly, we'll probably manage.) - dilbert719
Sometimes I think Americans goto hockey games expecting it to be like the much more popular American pastime, WWE.. The fans conjure up a tribal mentality and boo or cheer at whatever tickles their fancy. I'm not saying Canadian fans are much different, but at least we don't boo offsides and icings... |

Yeah i don't see any point in trading Kadri unless the offer is crazy high. And i sort of get the diving comment but i dont get the cheapshot thing. He maybe had one noted check from behind but i think its more playing with an edge than "cheapshots."

Nope stay as is, tell Kess JVR, Dion, Lupes, Kadders, Bozie and Bernie to take it easy like last year. Boom.

One thing that really scares me about North America.
Seeing fully grown men watching and talking about WWF is really disturbing. |

If grown men were talking about the WWF (world wildlife fund) it's would be a good thing.
But they would rather talk about men in underwear grappling other greasy men. It's not that scary if you come to accept that N.America is home to some of the most ignorant and uneducated people on the planet. I would expect nothing more than what we see daily here. |

Go back and check. I'm not the one touting Kadri for Berglund. If that is in fact the two then there would be more pieces. So you go get a clue. - Iggysbff
Berglund has very poor trade value. All the fantasy league yearbook readers need to get over it. That's all I'm saying.
Wait no, I'm also saying this : you're being clueless on every single HB thread, every single day.

Oh look....another new butthurt laffs fan.
Kadri is a known diver and cheap shot artist. From his wjc's to the first few years in the NHL. He's done these things multiple times over and over.
Truth hurts I guess. - Iggysbff
huh what ?????? sorry but your reply has absolutely nothing to do with my post.
lets start with the fact that i never said I was a leafs fan, i just love calling out poor troll attempts on any forum and sir you have had multiple fails just in this thread alone
so lets talk trolling then
how does a professional gm in this league not know that they can not offer a player a contract when
.9 Eligibility for Play in the League. No Player shall be eligible for play in the League unless he:
(b) had been eligible for claim in the last Entry Draft, but was unclaimed, and:
(ii) had played hockey in North America the prior season and was under age 20 at the time of the last Entry Draft, and signed an SPC which was signed and registered with the League between the conclusion of the Entry Draft and commencement of the Major Juniors season (except that if such Player had signed an NHL try-out form, which was signed and registered with the League during the aforesaid time period, then the deadline for signing and registering with the League an SPC with such try-out Club shall be the commencement of the NHL Season).[...]
(iv) The words “eligible for claim in the last Entry Draft” in subparagraph (b) above mean “eligible for claim in all rounds of the last Entry Draft.” The words “the prior season” in subparagraph (i), (ii) and (iii) above mean “a full season prior to the last Entry Draft.”
yup that's right direct from the cba you would think Mac-t might have known this

23 year old Kadri's ATOI 17:23----> 50 points, 20 goals
26 year old Berglunds ATOI 16:10----> 32 points, 14 goals
Why would we trade Kadri for another Kulimen (albeit one that can play center)? And the Kadri season quoted above was considered a dissappointment by many.
What better linemates? - mykokes
Selective stat selection here and perhaps unfamiliarity with the Blues, at least giving you the benefit of the doubt.
The year you quote was Berglund's worst from a point per game stand point and considered a disappointment by all. It also ignores his role change for last year.
Look at the full ice time picture, not just TOI. Kadri had almost 1 minute more per game on the PP and a minute and a half more of even strength time. As a result, he had 2 and a half minutes of advantaged ice time (based on sheer amount of players on the ice and ignoring line mates). Again, this is a sheer numbers advantage in that he played two and a half minutes more with one less person to defend against him and his teammates. Said another way, almost 16% of Berglund's TOI was at a disadvantage in players on the ice compared to Kadri.
Who did Kardi play with on the PP? Kessell? Lupul? JVR? As far as power play line mates, those are a lot better than Oshie, Backes and Steen. Who did Kadri have on his even strength wing? Kadri with Lupul seems better than Berglund with Roy for example. |

better line mates? until last year kadri got generally 3rd line duties as well... the only player he gets to play with is lupuls and thats for about 30-40 games a year before he gets hurt - DarcyTucker16
Seems this is going back to selective statting and quoting.... one of the posters compared last year to last year stats. Yes Kadri had a lot better linemates - both in more power play time and in not playing with the likes of Derek Roy.
My entire point from the start is that there is little, marginal, tangible overall value difference between the two. As I said, some scouts will favor one, some will favor the other.
Berglund can PK. Kadri doesn't. Kadri is younger and may be perceived to have a more offensive upside. Berglund can play wing or center, etc. |
