I'm sure they are talking about lupul or Kadri. One of them. And the Blues idk. Shwartz? Backes? Steen? Don't hate I am just throwing out names as I have know idea who the Blues would be willing to give up. |

id love to see berglund in a leafs jersey, but the blues seem impressed with his improvement over thesummer ( more in shape, more focused and what not) |

Figured it was an Ek rumor so I had to respond appropriately. Is it better if it is Kadri instead of JVR?
- stljam
JVR won't be going anywhere.

Won't happen. Steen is one of Hitch's favorites by a good margin. he appreciates the strong two way game. - stljam
I'm still sad about the Steen trade, even now. (frank)ing Cliff Fletcher |

Berglund or Lindstrom are pretty much the only guys in our top 9 (We don't really have a top 6) I could see moving unless JVR or Kessel was coming back. |

I do.
We trade Phaneuf and Clarkson for Pietrangelo and Steen and the salaries are a wash |

Especially when this Blues fan is only willing to trade his fourth line center and a depth prospect. |

Saying Berglund is a 4th liner just suggests you don't know what you're talking about.
Berglund and Rattie for Kadri and a second is about all that makes sense between these teams. |

I'm just saying unless you guys are willing to move JVR or "I only skated a couple times this summer" Kessel I don't think any of our top guys are going anywhere.
We do have too much depth (if there is ever such a thing) on D right now if you want some of those guys! (Cole, Leopold, Jackman, Butler, Prosser) |

The Ice Girl situation was BS all around. It was sexist to have them traipsing around in skimpy outfits, but it was no better firing them all and replacing them with (fully clothed) men; that's just sexism of a different kind.
Two logical solutions present itself: either hire a mix of men and women, and dress them all in skimpy outfits, or hire a mix of men and women, and dress them all sensibly. One or the other, not "men in long sleeves and pants, women in basically lingerie."
I was at one of our preseason games, and the guys who were hired to clean the ice got booed nearly as badly as Gary Bettman. Once, to get the crowd's displeasure across? OK, not classy, but fair enough. Every time, though? The reaction was embarrassing. If the crowd was booing the firing of the girls in favor of men, that'd be one thing, but it was obvious that there were 10,000 people booing not getting to see cleavage. Wi-fi's free at the stadium, people. If you want that, use your damn phone and get over it. |

Did you even look? Kadri scores ,016 more goals per game, or less than two goals per year more than Berglund. That's significantly better? Really? This is without even considering the role and type of minutes Berglund played last year and the year before and ignores that Kadri has substantially better linemates a good part of the time.
I'm not saying either is better but rather that some scouts will prefer Kadri, some would prefer Berglund. - stljam
better line mates? until last year kadri got generally 3rd line duties as well... the only player he gets to play with is lupuls and thats for about 30-40 games a year before he gets hurt |

Lot harder to do in the cap era. You can forget Phil on the trade list at 8mm there is no room at the inn. - stljam
Don't worry, Nonis will have no problem making room by retaining salary. |

Even if you did Kessell for Oshie, Leopold, Reaves and say Rattie (leo and reaves going back for cap relief), the Blues still don't have enough room with the cap. Even if you moved Oshie to Steen in the deal, it still doesn't work well and no way Steen waives his NTC to go back to Toronto.
The only way it works is truly monster deal that will never happen...think something like this...
Kessell and Reilly for Oshie, Leopold, Shattenkirk, Reaves and Rattie - stljam
