I know Morgan is a d-man and likely untouchable but he is one of the very few on the roster that would have any interest.

Kadri makes no sense... The top 3 centers will be Stastny and Lehtera and one of Backes, Berglund, Steen, or even Schwartz. Kadri was last year's need. We went out and got two centers that are better than Kadri imho.

Lupul's injury factor is way to high plus he creates a cap issue due to his 5.25 million contract.

I seriously doubt the Blues are looking for another top 6 forward. It already looks like Oshie, and Berglund are gonna be on our 3rd line with all the depth we have. As for that Clarkson+Orr for Backes, that's got be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Nobody wants Clarkson.

Berglund is a 40-50 point guy and scores at a very similar rate and that is with him getting a lot less quality TOI due to the better other forwards.

The reason would be the other parts of the trade being slightly advantaged to the Leafs (prospect side) but that framework is at least close depending on how each team feels about the other players.

He is also a very good 2 way center/LW.

Kadri is far more skilled and being 3 years younger, he still has some room to grow his game. you don't trade 23-year-old second line centres for 26-year-old third line centres.

Aren't Kessell, JVR and Rielly pretty much untouchable? Lupul is the tin man. Nothing else on the roster that I could see helping much. No room for Kadri now with Lehtera and Stastny.

Kadri scores at a significantly better rate over his career while being 3 years younger. he's already the better offensive player and he's got another year or two before he even peaks.

Not to mention, Kadri's defensive woes are very overstated.
