I think Tony, he'll do well in St. Louis. He should've been over here 3 years ago. - mykokes
I'll take your word for it 'Kokes, but the dude was saying his presence would make acquiring Kadri redundant, as in Lehtera is as good if not better than Kadri. If this is the case, I'm going to need to re-address my fantasy pre-draft rankings. |

There is a new parade route: It starts at Bell's Corporate head office in Montreal and ends at Rogers head office in Toronto. - magmoo
so that would be the day the leafs marching the cup through Montreal to Toronto,,that has "pay per view" written all over it the buy rates would be huge ill split half with ya lets get this done |

Fair enough, but who in the past draft would you trade JVR for?
Obviously, there might be players that end up being better, but it is a pretty big risk to take. - Aetherial
Other than Ekblad? Probably no one. Maybe Reinhart, but nobody beyond that.
But I think it goes without saying that ANY trade of a known good player for an unproven but highly touted prospect is always risky regardless. But don't you have to take some chances now and again to shake things up and get moving in the right direction.
I love JVR, but like it or not, Ekblad is an elite prospect. I think if my team needs defensive help I find a way to make a deal like that work. Just my opinion I guess, obviously some such as yourself disagree, rightfully so I'm sure.
I guess last season did boost JVR into a more sure fire category offensively, but if I can get my hands on the number one defensive prospect, I think I'd find a way to make it work. |

I know it's just banter, but I wonder if some people really think the whole "losers since 67" is insulting. I mean a Canadian team hasn't won in the NHL since 93, and some have never won a cup. So what's the difference between 67, 89, or 93? I'd say if your team hasn't won a championship in over 20 years that makes them pretty irrelevant in today's world. - BetterCallSaul
Umm 6 team league vs today's 30 teams... |

By the end of the year sure.....but Gbov was getting the second most minutes among centers from day 1, but most of the defensive zone starts.
You can't be a second line centre and only have an ATOI of 16 minutes. - mykokes
Grabo only averaged 15:34 that year just an fyi which would suggest to me that Kadri was the second C more of the year than he wasn't but I could be wrong but again most of my viewing would have been second half of year. |

I don't think any of them are irrelevant. But what I do find ridiculous is the notion that if you cheer for a team that sucks at the moment then you are deemed to know nothing. |

Like Rask for Raycroft type chances?
Or Stempniak for Steen?
Or Schenn for JVR?
Or Kessel or 2 1sts and a 2nd (wherever that guy disappeared to?)
Or Beauch for Lupul and Gardiner?
Or Grabovski for Pateryn and a 2nd?
Those type of chances? |

Yeah, I recognize that. My point was that no Canadian teams have had recent success by way of a championship, so when you rip on another it's pretty much just saying "my team sucks less than yours does. " |

But would you bet your mortgage payment that he'll be better than Kadri this year? I'm not sure if it was you or not but one blues fans said in one of the first pages that he thinks he's Lehtera is better. - HealthyScratch6
As much as I like Lehtera, there's no chance he will be better than Kadri. Kadri's more in the Jaden Schwartz/TJ Oshie class of player imo. - mykokes
Figured it better to include both.
I would take that bet for say a 12 pack with a friend who is a leafs fan but not a casino type bet. Having said that, I think many Blues fans might take that bet. I do think it is possible that Lehtera could put up more points, just not probable.
Remenber Lehtera is 26, has played in high level international competition, and does have the benefit of already having played with Tarasenko for years, all be it on a bigger ice surface but they have familiarity and may have chemistry and Tarasenko could be something very, very special. Given the three line depth the Blues have, they may also benefit from certain better matchups. |

Those are the reverse type of chances you want to take when re-building/re-tooling a team. Trading upside for established production levels |

Too funny. This is a database project that is way down on my list of things to do. Would be easy to do for a player or two but a pain to do for all and I want all so it is sortable, really broken down by overall, ES, SH, PP, and by period. Even further would be nice but those are realistic.
Long way of saying not yet. |

I think he'll have a season like soderberg's in Boston. |
